    being stricken at home.
    Born in Niagara Falls, Mr.
    Zito attended local schools and
    was a partner in Roscetti-Zito
    Builders for 25 years. Her and
    his wife operated the LoSalle
    Coffee Shop for six years and
    ????delicatessen until 1968.
    Mr. Zito was a fourth degree
    member of the Knights of Col-

    and the st. Vincent de Paul

    LEWISTON — Joseph M. Zito, 95, of Lewiston, NY, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family, and while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, he was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Zito.

    On August 2, 1947, he married Angeline (Tullo) Zito in Sacred Heart Church, Niagara Falls. Joseph was co-founder of Cataract Trucking in Niagara Falls, NY, a firm he operated for over 35 years. He was a long-time and dedicated member of St. Joseph Parish in Niagara Falls, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph's for over 65 years. Joseph was a member and trustee of the Italian Sons and Daughters (ISDA) Power City Lodge #158 in Niagara Falls, and also volunteered at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston. In his leisure he enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time with his family.

    In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by two children, Judy (William) Clark and Andrew Zito, both of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Ashlie (Matt) Marcyan, JJ Alquist and Amber Zito; three great-grandchildren, Maya, Chloe and Reese Marcyan; a brother, Ralph (Anna) Zito of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Anthony (late Margaret) Zito, Paul (late Sarah) Zito, James (late Elizabeth) Zito, Samuel (late Gertrude) Zito, Br. John Zito, S.D.B.; and sisters, Sr. Josephine Zito, FMA, Jennie (late Charles) Ruggirello, Mary (late Anthony) Catalfamo, Margaret (late Dominic) Certo.

    Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather

    Ralph J. Zito, 87, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Zito.

    Ralph was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools including the former St. Joseph School. He later attended St. John Bosco Seminary in Newton, NJ. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician's Mate Fireman from October 22, 1945 until his honorable discharge on October 13, 1948. On October 27, 1951, he married Anna M. (Pietrangeli) Zito at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Zito predeceased him on November 29, 2014. Ralph worked in various local manufacturing facilities before joining his brothers, Sam and Joe, at Cataract Trucking and Car Rental where he drove the semi "Little Ralph" until his retirement. In his leisure time, Ralph enjoyed horseracing and bowling. But most of all, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

    Ralph is survived by three children, Yvonne (Daniel) Anderson of Niagara Falls, NY, Joseph (Cheryl) Zito of Grand Island, NY and John (Carolyn) Zito of Lewiston, NY and was predeceased by two daughters, Ann and Betty Ann. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brett and Matthew Anderson, Nikki Ann, Erik, Dominic, Michael and Anthony Zito; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph was the last surviving sibling of eleven brothers and sisters, Anthony (late Margaret) Zito, Paul (late Sarah) Zito, James (late Elizabeth) Zito, Samuel (late Gertrude) Zito, Joseph (Angeline of Lewiston, NY) Zito, Brother John Zito, S.D.B., Sister Josephine Zito, F.M.A., Jennie (late Charles) Ruggirello, Mary (late Anthony) Catalfamo and Margaret (late Dominic) Certo.

    Mr. Zito donated his body to the University at Buffalo's Anatomical Gift Program for medical research. There will be a Memorial Mass in celebration of Ralph and Anna Zito's lives on Saturday, December 27th at 12 noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, concluding with Military Honors.     The toll of traffic fatalities
    in this city and vicinity has
    taken another upward bound
    with the deaths of a Falls
    woman in a two-car collision
    here and of a North Tonawanda
    man injured Thursday in a
    Sanborn accident.
    The latest victims were:
    Mrs- Gloria .Mansu, 30, of 482
    18th St.
    Albert HID, 79, of 444 Bennett
    St., North Tonawanda.
    Injured but released after treatment
    at Mt. St. Mary'. Hospital
    was Mrs. Mansu's daughter, Linda
    Marie, 7.
    Mrs., Mansu's death Saturday
    night raised the city's traffic fatality
    toll to 12, compared to five recorded
    last year at this date. The total
    for 1955 was 10.
    Th« Will death raised the toll
    of auto deaths on county roads
    outside the cities to 14, according
    to the Niagara County Sheriffs
    office. <
    Thrown From Car.
    Mrs. Mansu wax killed in an accident
    at Jefferson and Sixth streets
    when she was thrown from the
    auto her husband, Nunzio Mansu,
    29. was driving.
    She suffered a broken neck and
    was dead on arrival at Mt. St.
    Mary's Hospital. Her daughter suffered
    abrasions on both knees,
    "nose and left wrist.
    Police arrested the driver of the
    other car, Miss Maxie L, Duehart,
    41, of 2817 13th St., and charged
    her with driving at a dangerous
    speed.
    At a hearing in Police Court
    today, Miss Duehart pleaded not
    guilty to the charge and was placed

    According to police, Miss Duehart
    was traveling north in Sixth
    street. The Mansu car was heading
    east in Jefferson.
    Says She Stopped
    In a statement to police, Miss
    Duehart said she stopped at a stop
    sign at the intersection and then
    proceeded to cross Jefferson. She
    applied the brakes when she saw
    Mrs. Mansu's car coming through
    the intersection "at a high rate of
    speed." she told police.
    Miss Duehart stated she was driving
    five to 10 miles an hour when
    her machine struck the right rear
    fender of the Mansu car.
    A native of this city, Mrs. Mansu
    was a waitress at the Como Restaurant.
    In addition to her husband, she
    is survived by her parents, Mr. and
    Mrs. Anthony Zito; a sister, Mrs.
    Joseph Mariglio, and a brother,
    Ronald Zito, all of this city.
    Services will be held at 9 a.m.
    Thursday at the Spallino Funeral
    Home. A Solemn High Mass of
    Requiem will be sung at 9:45 a.m.
    at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will
    be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

    A companion, Richard Ziehl,

    the car, died a few hours after
    the accident.
    According to the Associated
    Press, the car ran off a road
    near the Coast Guard's radio
    communications facility in
    Fairfax County, Va., across
    the Potomac River from Washington.
    The Zito youth had
    been assigned to the electronics
    d i v i s i o n of the Coast
    Guard's facility there.
    Robert was a graduate of
    Stella Niagara and Bishop
    Duffy High School. He attended
    John Carroll University
    prior to entering the U.S.
    Coast Guard, where-he had
    served for two years.

    Andrew was a graduate of Villa Maria College.  He started his over forty year working career in trucking with his father and uncle at Cataract Motor Express. Most recently, he was employed with the YRC Trucking in Tonawanda, NY.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a former union steward.
    Andrew had a love of music as he enjoyed playing the guitar and owned a small recording studio. He also loved to ride his motorcycle.  Above all, his life was centered around the love he had for his family.
    Mr Zito is survived by his daughter Amber (Elliott) Ash and grandson Ethan Ash. He is also survived by his sister, Judith A. (William) Clark, his niece and nephew Ashley (Matthew) Marcyan and J. J. (Alicia) Alquist as well as several great nieces.
