LOCKPORT. Aug. 2-A former
Lockport merchant, and former city
sealer of. weights' and . measures,
Louis J. Sonnenmeier, 62, last night
suffered a-fatal heart attack at his
home, 153 Harvey avenue. The
emergency squad of the Lockport
Fire department administered, treatment
but he failed to respond.
Born October 6, 1899, in Detroit,
Mr. Sonnenmeier was the son of
Dennis and Josephine Emmendorfer
Sonhemeier. He was a young
boy when his family came to Lockport.
Mr. Sonnenmeier conducted the
Big- Bridge Newsroom, Buffalo
street, for 31 years, before accepting
a position as city .sealer which he
held for three years. He was a member
of St. Mary's church, the Holy
Name society, the League of the
Sacred Heart, the Knights of Columbus
and the Screwball club. -'
Surviving are his wife, Blanche,
Steblein Sonnenmeier; a son. Dennis
H. Sonnenmeier, Lockport, 'and
two sisters, Mrs. Mae Grant, Buffalo,
and Mrs. Frank Steblein,
Lockport.
Funeral .services will be held at
9:30 a. m. Monday from the home
and at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's
church.
