RFD 2, Franklinville, died after
a heart attack Monday (Jan. 29,
1962. Born in Bennington, N.Y.,
Jan. 9, 1904, he lived in Franklinville
11 years, coming to
Franklinville from Attica, N.Y.;
was a dairy farmer for the past
17 years. Formerly employed by
Columbus McKinnon Chain Co. of
Tonawanda. Survived by his
wife, Arline Ullrich Mapes, six
sons, Fred, Norman and Donald
of Franklinville, Carl, Harold and
Paul of Tonawanda and 12 grandchildren.
He was the son of the
late Ira and Martha Schiller
Mapes. Friends may call at the
Babbitt and Allen Funeral Home,
7 North Main St., Franklinville,
where services will be conducted
Thursday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. The
Rev. Gerald Haines of the First
Christian Church of Machias will
officiate. Burial in Mt. Prospect
Cemetery, Franklinville.
