    Shelby subscriber, last week, contain-
    ed the following of Interest to our
    readers: "Willis Plant.age five years son
    of Walter A. Plant, of Newbury.
    England, (formerly of East
    Shelby, Orleans County) was standing
    near his father, who was running an
    oil cake mill, when the child's hand
    was caught in the cogs and badly
    crushed, The attending physicians
    believed they could save his hand and
    he seemed to be doing well for about
    one week, when It commenced getting
    worse. He was taken with lock jaw
    and died on the second of March.

    Hensel, 48, wife of John, died last night
    at the family, home at 360 South
    Transit street. Mrs. Hensel was a
    member of Grace Episcopal church snd
    of several fraternal organisations. Besides
    her husband she is survived by
    one son. one daughter, her mother,
    three brothers and one sister.- Funeral
    services will be held from the family
    home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30
    o'clock. Interment will be in Glenwood
    cemetery,

    Spawton, 73, of 28 Lisbon Ave.,
    Buffalo, died Wednesday (Jan.
    6, 1960) at home.
    Mrs. Spawton, a 56-year
    resident of Buffalo, was active
    in church and fraternal organizations
    there. She was born in
    Lockport, May 16, 1886, daughter
    of Walter and Mary Plant.
    She attended schools here.
    In Buffalo, Mrs. Spawton
    was a 47-year member of Vesta
    Rebekah Lodge No. 134, the
    Golden Age Club of University
    Methodist Church, the Woman's
    Society of Christian
    Service and the Lockport Odd
    Fellows Home Guild.
    Survivors include two brother^
    Earl Plant, this city, and
    Carter Plant, Orlando, Fla.,
    three grandchildren and 10
    great grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted
    at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the
    George W. Denneville Funeral
    Home, Buffalo, by the Rev.
    Raymond E. Risden of Univer
    sity Methodist Church. Burial
    will be in Elmlawn cemetery.

    Thursday at Los Angeles where he

    ago. Mr. Plant was master mechanic

    of Grace Episcopal church.
    Surviving are his wife. Alice
    Seeley. Plant, Los Angeles: two
    daughters, Mrs. Roger E. Branch,
    this city, and Virginia A. Plant. Los

    LOCKPORT —
    Virginia Aline (Plant) Slyster, age 89, formerly of Lockport, NY, died on Monday, December 24, 2012 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born on December 20, 1923 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Herbert Lee and Alice (Seeley) Plant. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Ralph W. Slyster in 1980.
    Prior to her retirement, Virginia was a cosmetologist in Gasport, NY. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Lockport, NY. Virginia was an avid knitter and would knit socks for the soldiers during WWII and baby caps and booties for the hospitals in Buffalo, NY. She served as a volunteer for many years with the Red Cross and for her church, Grace Episcopal Church in the Thrift Shop and Alter Guild.
    Virginia is survived by her daughter, Rita (David) Alexyn of Mansfield, PA; four grandchildren, Renee (Patrick) Lahr, Ralph Slyster III, Dakota Alexyn, Savannah Alexyn; one great-grandchild, Carter Donald Lahr; and one nephew, Lee Plant of Richmond, VA. In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was also predeceased by a son, Ralph William Slyster, Jr. and a sister, Mary Branch.
    Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following calling hours at the funeral chapel with Rev. Allen Hulslander. Further services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hartland Cemetery, Hartland, NY.
