Obituary of Roy A. Fry

Roy A. Fry passed away Friday January 22, 2021 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lockport on September 30, 1935, he was the son of the late Burt and Laura Lederhouse Fry. He was drafted into The US Army, during the Korean War. Roy owned and operated the Owl Inn in Rapids from 1956 until 1996. He was a member of the Rapids Volunteer Fire Co. Exempts, the Redmen Club and the Navy/Marine Club. Roy enjoyed playing cards especially Euchre, watching the NY Yankees and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Douglas (Esther Smith) Fry, Debra (Bob Hoehman) McDonald, Kevin (Linda) Fry, Susan (Scott) Killion and Daniel Fry; grandfather of Mindee (Stan), Meghan, Danica (Dan), Anna, Cort, Rachael, Chelsea, Melanie, Travis, Summer, Jennifer, Savannah, Daniel Jr., Haley. and great grandfather of 8. He is also survived by his former wife, Mary Ann (Rankie) Fry. Roy was the brother of Marjorie Singleton and the late Donald (Myra) Fry, Marvin “Dutch” (Marie) Fry, Clarence (Marjorie) Fry, Doris Dietz, Lorraine Dysinger, Carol Lippert, Norman (Eva) Fry, Warren Fry, Howard “Irish” (Pauline) Fry, Glen (Diane Meyers) Fry and Gordon Fry; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday January 28th 2-6 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 6 PM.  Memorials to the Wolcottsville Wildlife Rescue, 6570 Mann Road, Akron, NY 14001 or to Oshei Children’s Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.  Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.
