    MIDDLEPORT, May 24 - Mrs August Stahl. age 78 years, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Fiertz, east of the village on the State road. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fiertz, Mrs. August Schrader of Middleport, Mrs. John Schrader of Medina, Mrs. Lewis Klino of the Ridge road, three sons Charles and John Stahl at Middleport and Rudolph Stahl of Royalton Center. two sisters, one at Wolcottsville and one at the Ridge. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock, new time, from the Fiertz home. Burial at Mountain Ridge cemetery.

    Schrader, died at her home on
    Francis street Sunday morning following
    a long illness. She leaves,
    besides her husband, three daughters,
    Mrs. Charles Stahl, of Royalton,
    Mrs. Phillip McCabe and Mrs.
    Elbert Hall, both of Middleport;
    three brothers and two sisters,
    Rudolph Stahl, of Royalton, John
    Stahl, of Middleport, Emil Stahl, of
    Wolcottsville: Mrs. Lewis Klino, of
    Middleport; Albert Fieritz of Shelby
    Balsin.
    Mrs. Schrader was born in Germany
    and has lived in t h i s country
    74 years. She has been a resident
    of Middleport for the past 36 years.
    The body will be a t t h e home until
    Wednesday when funeral services
    will be held at t h e Richardson and
    Knuebel funeral home, State street,
    a t 2:30 o'clock, standard time. The
    Rev: Mr. Beck of Royalton Center,
    will officiate. Burial will be In
    Royalton Mountain Ridge cemetery.

    Mrs. Hall retired from
    Harrison Radiator in IBM after
    24 years of service.

    Gladys Buckner loved...loved life, loved Carl, loved her daughters and her grandchildren and there was nothing in the world she would not do or sacrifice of herself for them.

    Her life was not easy she lost four infant sons but rejoiced in the two daughters who brought joy to her heart and completion to her and Carl's family.

    It was a life of very hard work interspersed with laughter and joy evidenced by a family album of fishing trips and picnics and homemade food for Gladys Buckner was a wonderful cook. She always made every holiday memorable with handmade decorations; the ones that take more time than money...the special ones.

    Howard Stahl, nineteen, Royalton
    Center, drowneu yesterday morning in
    Cothran's pond, Chestnut ridge, was
    recovered at noon today, twenty-six
    hours after the young man lost hid
    life while swimming. The body was
    found by an uncle of the boy, August
    Pittler, Jr., also o f Royalton Center,
    who grappled with the help of a hook
    attached to a long rope. It was some
    distance from where the boy had gone
    down.

    LOCKPORT -
    Eleanor E. Klutts of Lockport passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina, NY. Mrs. Klutts was born in the Town of Royalton on May 27, 1927, daughter of the late Vernon and Florence (Stahl) Childs and she grew up in the Town of Royalton. She and her husband, Duane Klutts, were married on August 15, 1947 and he predeceased her in 1977.
    She was employed as an account clerk for Niagara County Department of Economic Development and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Niagara County Council of the Aging, Middleport Senior Citizens, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and was also a member of the Home Bureau Handicrafters Group. She enjoyed her family, traveling, bowling and playing Eucre.
    She was predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Klutts; and two siblings, Richard Childs and Allen Childs. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Roxanne (Keith) Wallace of Lockport, Darryl (Beth) Klutts of Harpursville, NY, Melinda Haberer and Kirby (Candy) Klutts, both of Lockport. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Wendy (David) Nour of Georgia, Todd (Holly) Kenyon of Montana, Maggie Klutts of Utica, NY, Katie Klutts of Washington, DC, Abby Klutts of Harpursville, NY, Mitchell Haberer of Grand Island, NY, Nathan (Dawn) Harberer of Rochester, Heather (Phillip) Garis and Hilary (Ethan) Taylor, all of Lockport. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Tennant of Ohio.
    Friends may call Monday from 6-9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road Middleport, NY. Burial will be in Royalton Mt. Ridge Cemetery.

    LOCKPORT — Gary P. Sparks passed away on February 6, 2012, at 2:00 AM, in Eastern Niagara Hospital, under care of Hospice, after a valiant struggle with cancer. He was born May 3, 1947.

    Gary was a horse trainer and traveled across the United States to work with show animals and others for various owners.

    He is survived by his parents, Jerome P. Sparks and Elsie (Stahl) Sparks Hodgins; grandparents, Robert and Emilia Sparks and Rudolph and Bertha Stahl; sisters, Joyce and (late Jack) Ladd, Lockport, NY, Mary Lou and (Jim) Burt, West Palm Beach, FL; brothers, Kenneth and Mable Sparks, Middleport, NY, Roger Sparks, Belfast, NY, Peter Sparks, Grand Island, NY. Gary also leaves behind special friend and companion, Ruth Shukwit; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

    Gary donated his body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. Memorials, if desired, to Cancer Foundation or Hospice Niagara.

    Geraldine R. Liuzzi passed away November 19, 2021 in Elderwood at Lockport.  Born November 26, 1934 in Lockport she was the daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Kozloski) Klino.  Geraldine worked for 35 years at Lockport Memorial Hospital where she was a Nursing Assistant retiring in 1989.  She would assist her husband, Anthony, harness racing, and she enjoyed the Buffalo Bills, going to Batavia Downs, gardening, and was a big animal lover.  Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Liuzzi October 11, 2016.
    Geraldine was the sister of  Clara (late Richard) Sadlocha and the late Joanne (Bruce) Ryder; also several dear nieces and nephews.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated of Friday November 26th at 11 AM in Holy Trinity Parish (St. Stephen Worship Site) 21 Vernon Street, Middleport, NY 14105.  Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.  Memorials to The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, 500 E Chelten Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144 or to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15233, would be appreciated by the family.  Online Condolences at www.pruddenandkandt.com.

    LOCKPORT – Joanne M. Ryder, 79, formerly of Middleport, died March 1, 2019 in Eastern Niagara Hospital. She was born November 26, 1939 in Middleport, a daughter of Leroy and Mary (Kozloski) Klino and had lived in this area her entire life.
    Joanne was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen’s Church, the Lions Club of Lockport, the Keenan Center Arts Council and was a 1958 graduate of Royalton-Hartland Central School.  While being a person who enjoyed traveling, she particularly enjoyed going to Colorado, and the Thousand Islands. Joanne also loved to shop and play golf. She and her husband never took a trip without having 2 sets of clubs in the car. She loved to dance, enjoyed music and was a very caring, strong, opinionated and independent woman who will be remembered as a “Free Spirit.”
    She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bruce; her son, Greg Ryder of CO; her daughter, Marci (James) Cleary of Fairport; her grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jack Cleary; sisters, Clara Lou Sadlocha of Middleport and Geraldine Liuzzi of Middleport; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled for a later date and burial in Hartland Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy, Amherst, NY, 14228 or St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
