Park Ave., died Sunday (April 14, 1968) in his home
after a long illness.
Bom in Staffordshire, England,
he resided here most of
his life.
He served as justice of, the
peace here for 20 years,, retiring
about 25 years ago. He was
a member of St. Mark's Episcopal
Church and a life member
of the Knights of Pythias.
He was the husband of the
former Emma Romanowski,
who died in 1958.
Survivors include four sons,
Ernest, Arthur and Wilbert,
of this city, and Robert of Newfane;
four daughters, Mrs.
George (Beatrice) Bacon, Mrs.
Arthur (Alice) Ekins, Mrs. Wallace
(Emma) Jaenecke, all of
this city, and Mrs. Samuel
(Olive) Horan of Lockport; 23
grandchildren and 33 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 1 p.m. Wednesday at
the Roth Funeral Home by the
Rev. Canon Alexander Corti.
Burial will be in White Chapel
Memorial Park.

Born in Tonawanda, NY on August 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Beatrice Bacon. She was a graduate of St. Francis of Assisi School and Mount St. Mary Academy and was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was active in the Lioness Club of the Tonawanda's, DeGraff Hospital Auxiliary and the Riviera Theatre, where she volunteered for many years and served on the Board of Directors. She was married on September 1, 1945 to Duane A Townsend, Sr., who passed away in September 1994. Loving mother of Nancy (Charles Bachman) and Duane Jr. (Christine); beloved grandmother of Victoria Rowley (Jason), Kevin and Amanda Townsend; sister of John W. Bacon, Veronica Wilbar and a late Margaret Asbury and George Bacon, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her dear friends, Joan Miller and Elmer Nilts. BACON - John W., Sr. “Jack” Age 83 of the City of Tonawanda, February 8, 2021. He is survived by his long time loving sweatheart Susanne (nee Miller) Tranter, father of John W. (Laurie) Bacon, Jr., Jill (Bruce) Spira and Joseph N. (Robin) Bacon, grandfather of Jaelle, Nicholas G. and Pearl Bacon and great-grandfather of Raelyn Bacon, son of the late George A. Sr. and Beatrice (nee Vigrass) Bacon, brother of Veronica (late Wendell) Wilbar and the late Margaret (late Daniel) Asbury, Bernice (late Duane) Townsend and George (late Lois) Bacon, Jr. Also many nieces and nephews. Jack was a 1955 graduate of Tonawanda High School and was a US Marine Corps Veteran serving on the USS Saratoga and on the USS Intrepid. Jack was a talented cabinet maker who built organs and boats in his career and his carpentry was evident in reconstructing his home. His career also included working as Maintenance Superintendent at the Tonawanda Housing Authority retiring in 2000. Jack was also a prominent musician who began playing drums at a young age. He was part of the WNY music scene and a bandleader, founding the Morgan Street Stompers Dixieland Band. He and his band played music at all sorts of venues for friends and followers. Jack was a member of Tonawandas’ Post 264 American Legion National Championship Band since the 1960’s and was a Charter member of the Clown Band. He was also a member of the Grandfather’s Band, Cheektowaga Senior Citizens Band, Queen City Jazz Society and the American Federation of Musicians Local 209. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 12th at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 150 Broad Street in Tonawanda. Together with her husband, Wilbert, she operated "Ostwald's Candies" at their home on Linwood Avenue in Tonawanda for more than 50 years, and was renowned for the quality or her products. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert A. Ostwald; a son, Dan (Sharon) Ostwald and a daughter, Phyllis (William) Schnirel. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. NORTH TONAWANDA — Kenneth L. Vigrass, age 59, of North Tonawanda, unexpectedly, March 8, 2012 at his home. Ken was an employee of SweetWorks Candy and was a former employee of Metal Cladding, Inc. Ken was a mechanic and loved to work on old cars.

He was the husband of the late Kathleen Vigrass, who died in 2008. Beloved father of Joseph (Becky) Vigrass and David Vigrass, both of North Tonawanda; step-father of Clifford (Karen) McCarty of Depew and Lisa McCarty of Sanborn; grandfather of Tyler, Cory, Jake, Pam, Zachary, Andrew, Christopher, Jennifer, Kayla and Jeremy; brother of Kathy (late Michael) Jay of North Tonawanda and the late James Vigrass and Joanne Huey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

(nee Ensminger) Ostwald, father of Martha (Christopher) Certo and Michael Ostwald, grand-father of Grace Ostwald, Emily and Samantha Certo and great grandfather of Kenadi Ostwald, son of the late Wilbert and Virginia Ostwald. Dan was a 1964 graduate of Tonawanda High School and was a US Marine Corps Veteran. He was a Life Member of Tonawandas' Post 264 American Legion and the American Legion Band. A private visitation and Funeral Service was held with Dan's immediate family. A private burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery. July 28, 2014 Christin Marie Vigrass Gopaul Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Mon Jul 28, 2014, 07:20 PM EDT WINTER PARK, FL - Christin Marie Vigrass Gopaul, 38, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, peacefully passed away on June 30, 2014. She was surrounded by her family, lots of love, and all the powerful prayers said on her behalf. The daughter of Roger and Deborah Vigrass, she was born on July 28, 1975 and lived in Tonawanda, NY. Christin moved to Florida in 2003 where she married her loving husband, David Gopaul, on January 17, 2009. Christin was an enthusiastic and dedicated mother to her children, Dominic and Ethan, and we know that she will forever watch over them as they continue to grow. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Janine; brother, Nathan; godparents, Barbara and Frank Giancola; aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and countless friends. A Celebration of Life Mass was held in the Chapel of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, FL on July 9, 2014.
