    Solemn Requiem High Mass for
    Mrs. Katherine Archbold, 54, of 1218
    College avenue, who died yesterday,
    will be sung at St. Teresa's church
    at 9 a.m. on Wednesday after ser-
    vices at the Rhoney Funeral home
    at 8:15 o'clock.
    Mrs. Archbold died at Mt. St.
    Mary's hospital Saturday following
    a heart attack suffered at her home.
    Born in Ireland, Mrs. Archbold
    had lived in Niagara Falls for the
    last 30 years. She was a mem-
    ber of the Altar and Rosary soci-
    ety at St. Teresa's church.
    Surviving are her husband,
    George; two sons, John and George,
    Jr., this city; four daughters, Mrs.
    Charles Wilson and Miss Mary
    Archbold, this city, Mrs. Michael Di-
    vine, Buffalo, and Mrs. Thomas
    Netzer, Wisconsin, and four grand-
    children.
    Burial will be in Gate of Heaven
    cemetery.

    NIAGARA FALLS — John J. Archbold, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 8, 1921, the son of the late George J. and Kathleen (Kinnahan) Archbold, Sr.

    Mr. Archbold graduated from St Mary's High School and attended Niagara University. He served with the US Navy during World War II aboard PT boats in the Mediterranean Theater and was awarded the WW II Victory Medal. Mr. Archbold was an accountant with E.I. duPont, in Niagara Falls for over 38 years, before retiring in 1979. He had played baseball, football, ran track and bowled both in high school and as a amateur. Mr. Archbold was inducted into the Niagara Falls Bowling Association Hall of Fame, the Niagara Falls Umpires Association Hall of Fame and to the Niagara Falls Old Timers Sports Hall of Fame. In 1991, he served as the Grand Marshall in the St Patrick's Day Parade. He was a member the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Knights of Columbus council #247 and the P.T. Boaters, Inc. Mr. Archbold was the husband of 62 years to the late Mary C. (Boddecker) Archbold, she died in January of 2009.

    He is survived by one son, John M. Archbold of Niagara Falls, NY; three daughters, Patricia (Carl) Schlomberg of Port St. Lucie, FL, Catherine Mitchell and Barbara (Keith) Swiatlowski, both of Essex Junction, VT; six grandchildren, Larry (Kimberly) Thompson, Brian, Eric (Charlene) and Patrick Mitchell, Jennifer (Kyle) and Jamie Swiatlowski; four great-grandchildren, Trey, Kurt, Liam and Sean; one sister, Kathleen Devine; a daughter, Jane Shultz; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Archbold was the father of the late James Archbold; brother of the late George J. Archbold, Jr., Margaret Netzer, Mary Whalen and Theresa Wolosin.

    The family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Robert S. Hughson officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Interment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

    LEWISTON — Margaret (Archbold) Netzer, 89, of Wheatfield, NY, formerly of 93rd Street, Niagara Falls, NY, entered her heavenly home Saturday, December 3, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born March 29, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the eldest daughter of George and Kathleen (Kinnahan) Archbold, who are registered in the Ellis Island (Irish) immigrant Wall of Honor.

    Mrs. Netzer graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1940 and also attended classes at the University of Cincinnati, OH. She worked briefly in the payroll department at Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls, before moving to Washington, D.C., where she began working for the United States Army War Department at the Pentagon. She relocated to Cincinnati, OH, continuing to work for the Personnel Division of the War Department, for approximately three years. Margaret transferred to Fort Niagara Personnel Dept. in Lewiston, where she worked until its closing, and at which time she began working for the Veterans Administration Office in Niagara Falls, NY.

    Margaret married Thomas C. Netzer on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1947 at St. Teresa's Church, Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Netzer predeceased her in June 2006 after 58 great years of marriage. Mrs. Netzer created a comfortable, well-run home, and was blessed with a close and caring family. She loved spending time with her friends, but focused most of her time with her great family.

    Margaret volunteered at the VA Western NY Health Care Center for 22 years, in the emergency and administration office as a Red Cross worker. She was a member and past officer of the Altar & Rosary Society and the Mother's Club of Prince of Peace Church, and also a member of Senior Citizens of St. John de LaSalle Church. Margaret was active in the CFM-Christian Family Movement for several years.

    Margaret will be sadly missed by son, Thomas Mark (Barbara) Netzer of West Chester, PA; daughters, Sheila (late David) Shipston of Eleanor, WV, Margee (Ronald) Zito of Wheatfield, NY and Joan (Anthony) Filardo of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Timothy, Laura, Jenne, Christine, James, Lori, Ronald, Jacquelyn, John, Leigh and Janelle; great-grandchildren, Landon, David, Grant, Tessa, Carmella, Cole, Aiden, Trenton, Nolan, Marina, Lucianna, Gina, Theresa and Faustina; one brother, John J. Archbold of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Kathleen Devine of Buffalo, NY. She was predeceased by two sisters, Teresa Wolosin and Mary Whalen; one brother, George J. Archbold, Jr. Margaret is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her many great friends at Weinberg Campus and at Crestwood Commons, Wheatfield, NY.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 7, at 10:00 AM, at St. Vincent dePaul Parish in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.     Beloved wife of the late Michael C. "Mickey" Devine; dearest mother of Daniel (late Audrey) Devine, Marjorie (Timothy Sr.) Wagner, Jane (John) Corbelli, Kathleen (Gary) Berchou, Joseph (Cara), Terrence (Marion), Patrick (Ginger), Michael B. and Maureen W. Devine; devoted grandmother of 18; great-grandmother of one; beloved daughter of the late George and Kathleen (Kinnahan) Archbold; sister of the late John Archbold, Margaret Netzer, George Archbold, Theresa Wolosin and Mary (survived by Thomas) Whalen; survived by many nieces and nephews, including Susan Wisniewski and James Larkin who lived next door.

    Margaret “Margee” M. Zito, 67, of the Village of Wilson, NY, passed away on March 7, 2020 surrounded by her family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Margaret A. (Archbold) Netzer; and the loving wife of Ron Zito, who she married on June 14, 1974 at Prince of Peace Church.
    Margaret attended local schools and received her Master’s Degree from Buffalo State College in Education. She was a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher for over 25 years at 79th Street School in Niagara Falls prior to her retirement in 2014. She was passionate about her work, and was dearly beloved by students and coworkers alike.
    Margee’s heart was devoted to the Village of Wilson community and was extremely active at the Wilson Food Pantry, St. Brendan on the Lake R.C. Church, and the Wilson Community Library. She was also an avid reader and loved spending time with her “College Girls Club” monthly. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
    In addition to her husband of 45 years, she is survived by her loving children Christine (Anthony) Ruffolo, Lori (Alex) Cuevas and Ronald (Shareen) Zito; her beloved grandchildren, Aiden, Trenton, Chad and Neo; three siblings Thomas Mark (Barbara) Netzer, Sheila (late David) Shipston and Joan (Anthony) Filardo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Visitation will be on Monday, March 9 from 2 -4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Margee’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Brendan on the Lake R.C. Church, 359 Lake St, Wilson, NY 14172. Private Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
