    Notes:

    Ann L. DeFranco, 86, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Angeline (Alongi) Distefano and the wife of the late Michael “Mickey” J. DeFranco.                                                                       
    Ann attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She began working at Niagara Orthopedics, and later was employed at Dr. Fiorica’s office.
    Ann was a longtime member of Niagara Frontier Country Club where she loved to golf and socialize. She also enjoyed painting, as well as tending to her garden. She took great pride in her appearance, in maintaining her home, and she loved to entertain family and friends with elegant dinners.  She was an excellent cook. Ann was a supportive, loving and proud friend to her nieces and nephews as well as an Aunt, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her presence in the lives of those she touched will be greatly missed. 
    Ann is survived by her children, Chris (Judith) Finitz and Jeff (Sarah) Finitz; her grandchildren, Christopher (Allison) Finitz, Capt. NFFD, Carly (Anthony) DiCosmo, Mitchell Finitz, Mason Finitz, and Benjamin Finitz; her great-grandson, Geoffrey Finitz, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Anthony (late Camille) Distefano.
    Ann’s family wishes to express their gratitude to those who aided her at home during her illness and to the doctors, nurses and staff at Niagara Hospice House who cared for her in her last days.
    Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s RC Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092. Interment will be held privately in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
