    LOCKPORT, Dec. 26-A Lewiston
    man remains in serious condition
    in Ransomville General Hospital
    after an accident Thursday
    which took the life of George Haak,
    73, of Akron Road, Town of Lockport
    **
    Haak, driver of one of the cars
    involved in the two-car collision
    at the intersection of Balmer and
    dickersonville Rds., died at the
    Ransomville Hospital shortly after
    he was taken there from the scene
    of the accident. He suffered in-
    ternal injuries.
    In-serious condition is the driver

    of the second car, Ira R. Patchin,
    43. He is suffering from internai
    injuries and a possible fractured
    skull.
    Sheriffs Deputies Rudolph Zeihm
    and William Fiegl said Mr. Haak's
    car was going north in the Dickersonville
    road and was struck
    broadside in the center of the intersection
    by Mr. Patchings car.
    The Haak car was driven against a
    pole by the impact, deputies said. '
    Mr. Haak was born at Amherst.
    Aug. 3, 1880, a son of the late William
    and Minnie Haak. He attended
    district schools and was a farmer
    most of his life.
    Surviving are two duaghters and
    one son, Mrs. Albert Olbcter. Pittsburgh,
    Mrs. John Kaufman and
    Clarence G. Haak, both of this
    city, also two sisters, Mrs. Levi
    Altro, Millersport, and Mrs. Elmer
    Engel, Clarence Center.
    Services will be held Monday at
    2 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral Home.
    Burial will be in Dysinger's Cemetery.

    NEWFANE — Dorothy Marie (Engel) Baehr died on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. Born on January 14, 1924 in Clarence, NY, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Augusta (Altro) Engel.

    She attended local schools in Clarence and met and married Clarence Baehr in 1955. They operated a farm in Wrights Corners from 1955 to 1962. Dorothy worked at the Newfane School System Cafeteria for several years and then they bought a dairy farm in 1962 that they worked until retirement. She and Clarence volunteered for Meals on Wheels, where they had gotten Volunteer of the Year. She also worked with Bob Botzer there. Dorothy liked to work on latch hook rugs enjoyed canning freezing and spending time with family. She enjoyed going to the Southern tier to be with Bob and Linda and was a longtime member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church of which she belonged to the Ladies Aid.

    Surviving her are her son, Robert (Linda) Baehr of Fillmore, NY; two grandsons, Michael and Jeffery Baehr; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Florence Maass.

    Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at the Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church.
