Lockport, died Saturday (Nov.
29, 1969) in St. Cloud, Fla.
He was born in the Town of
Royalton, Dec. 23, 1897, son of
Charles and Reaka Koske
Maass. He was employed for
39 years at the Hooker Chemical
Co., Niagara Falls, until his re
tirement several years ago.
Husband of the alte Elizabeth
Habscheid Maass, he is survived
by a daughter, Mrs. Richard
(Dorothy) Altrogge of The
Rapids; Two granddaughters,
Mrs. WiHiamh Hebeler of Pendleton
and Mrs. William Blair
of The Rapids; four great-grand
children; a brother, A l b e rt
Maass of Royalton; five sisters,
Mrs. Alvin Genet of Lockport,
Mrs. William Newman of Middleport,
Mrs. Leland Cummings
of Akron, Mrs. Owen Hough of
Tonawanda and Mrs. Leona
Cary of Lockport.
Beginning Tuesday, friends

Home where services will be
held Thursday at 2 p.m. The
Rev. Edward J. Tallis, pastor
of St. Stephen's, United Church
of Christ, will officiate.
Burial will be in Acacia Park

Obituary of Shirley G. Thompson
Lockport: Shirley Arlene Thompson (Genet), age 92, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. She was born June 20, 1928 in Gasport, NY to the late Alvin J. Genet and Nora (Maass) Genet.Shirley graduated from Lockport High School in 1945 and from Brockport State College in 1949. She taught in area Lutheran Schools and also taught at Lockport Dist. #3 on Chestnut Ridge. For 20 years, Shirley taught first grade in the Royalton Hartland School System at Gasport Elementary School before retiring in 1982.On June 20, 1952 she married Everett Thompson in Trinity Lutheran Church. He predeceased her in 2008. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Rebeca J. Thompson, sisters, Betty J. Alen, Catherine Genet, brother, Charles W. Genet and great-grandson, Jacob Neroni.Shirley is survived by her dear devoted son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kathleen Thompson, cherished grandchildren, Kyle (Heather) Thompson, Sean (Heather) Thompson, Vanessa (Tony) Neroni, Paul (Lauren) Hatley, Charles (Chrissi) Hatley and Joseph (Katie) Setheroh, precious great-grandchildren, Gianna, Tessa, Marco, Samantha, Taylor, Elizabeth, Alana, Violet, Scarlett, Daniel and Adalyn, thoughtful sister-in-law, Doreen Genet, devoted cousin, Karen Gardner, cousins, nieces and nephews.Shirley’s family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St. Gasport, NY 14067 on Friday, October 30th from 4:00-8:00pm where her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00am. Jean N. Koenig, age 86, of Middleport, entered into rest on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. Born April 14, 1929 in Middleport, Jean is the daughter of the late William and Esther (Maass) Newman.
Jean attended school at Brockport State Teachers College and later received her Masters. Jean was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She married Herbert Koenig in 1959.
Jean worked at Royalton Hartland School District first as an Elementary School teacher and then as the school's Principal from 1959 - 1980. Jean loved to cooking and enjoyed playing cards, Sudoku puzzles, quilting and travel. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she chairman of their scholarship fund and participated in many activities and committees at the church.
She is survived by her husband: Herbert Koenig and sisters: Elva (the late James) Fritton and Marie (the late Dennis) Feldmann. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home 38 State Street, Middleport from 4-8 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport at 11:00 am with the Pastor Richard Wolf officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby, NY immediately following.

Obituary of Carole Hebeler

Carole Hebeler passed away Saturday March 19, 2016 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born in Lockport, on March 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Maass Altrogge. Carole served as the secretary and treasurer for Hebeler's Sales and Service, which she had started with her family 48 years ago. She enjoyed gardening, Nascar, going to the Casino, and especially spending time with her family and friends.


Carole is survived by her husband, William L. Hebeler of Pendleton; mother of Joseph (Joan) Hebeler of Wilson, Michael "Butch" (Christa) Hebeler of Pendleton and the late Cindy A. Hebeler. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jarred (Betty) Hebeler, Brianne Hebeler, Jenna Hebeler and Dillon Hebeler. Carole was the sister of the late Barbara Blair.

Obituary of Barbara Blair Barbara Ruth Blair passed away November 15, 2015 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born in Lockport on August 16, 1943 she was the daughter of Richard E. and Dorothy (Maass) Altrogge. Barbara worked for the State of New York as a social worker in Niagara Falls. Barbara was instrumental in forming the Non-traditional Student Group at U.B. She enjoyed reading, quilting and especially being a grandmother. Barbara is survived by her daughter Paula Doldan of Lockport; grandmother of Nicholas R. Doldan of Lockport and Maxwell J. (Kendra) Doldan of New Mexico; sister of Carol (Bill) Hebeler of Pendleton; aunt of Joseph and Michael Hebeler.There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
