LOCKPORT, April 8-Funeral
services for Arza P. Alvord, 77, who
died at his home at Jeddo Saturday,
will be held tomorrow afternoon
at the family home, with interment
in Hartland Central cemetery.
The Rev. C. W. Hemmlng-
Way, of the Hartland Baptist
church, will officiate.
Mr. Alvord was a lifelong resident
of Jeddo and was active ln farming
up to a few years ago, when he
retired because of ill health. He Is
survived by his wife. Mrs. Carrie
Wright Alvord. And two daughters.
Mrs. Claude Shepard, of the Mill
road, and Mrs. Henry Pettis, of
Kenmore

Mrs. Lois E. Shepard, formerly
of North Ridgeway,
NY., died Monday at Orchard
Manor Nursing Home following
a long Illness.
Mrs. Shepard was born Oct
20, 1889 in the Town of
Ridgeway, the daughter of
Arza Alvord and Theodocia
Corser Alvord.
She had lived in the Town of
Ridgeway most of her life, and
had been self-employed as an
Interior decorator in the
Ridgeway area for a number of
yean. She was a member of the
Orleans County Home Bureau
Her husband, Claude
Shepard, died In 1959
Surviving are three
daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Pearls)
Childs of North Tonawanda,
Mrs. Clarence (Doris) Brown
of Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs.
Raymond (Vivian) Wallenberg
of Middleport; five grandchildren;
10 greatgrandchildren,
and several
nieces and nephews.
Friends may call today and
Wednesday (3-4 and 74) at the
Bates, Wallace and Heath
Funeral Home, 38 State St,
Middleport, where funeral
services will be held Thursday
st 2 p.m., with the Rev. Everett
Hendrickson officiating. Burial
will be in Hartland Central
Cemetery.

Lois married SHEPARD, Claude E about 1908. Claude was born about 1887 in New York; died in 1959. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

received of the death of Mrs.
Leah Alvord Pettis of Kenmore
who died oh Nov. 26 at the age
of 84.
She is survived by her
husband, Henry W. Pettis and
three daughters, Mrs. Ailene
Riedell of Kenmore, Mrs.
Marcia Jackson, California and
Mrs. Barbara Bukowski of
Dansville; also a sister, Mrs.
Lois Shepherd, Orchard Manor
Nursing Home, Medina.
Mr. and Mrs. Pettis were
residents of Millers many years
where they operated a grocery
and (unreadable) before
moving to Kenmore.
