Highland avenue, after a long illness.
He was born in Germany and had lived
in Tonawanda 44 years.
Surviving are five sons. Charles,
North Tonawanda. Robert, Los Angeles;
William, Otto and Walter Tonawanda;
Three daughters, Mrs. Milehan and Mrs.
Fred Globe, North Tonawanda. and
Mrs. Nathan Hawthorne. Providence.

of their brother, Robert H. Andres.
The latter, a former N o r th
Tonawandan, died Thanksgiving
Day. During his residence here
he was proprietor of a meat market
at Schenck and Falconer Sts.
He was a former member of the
National Hose Company and Eldredge
Bicycle Club.
Other survivors are three sisters:
Mesdames Freda Globe and
Thomas Mileham of the Tonawandas
and Mrs. Nathaniel Hawthorne,
Providence, R. I. The late
Charles Andres and the late Otto
Andres were brothers.
Funeral services were conducted
by the Wittier Lodge of Masons
and the Rev. F. A. Fisher of
the El Monte Lutheran Church.
Burial was in Englewood Cemetery,
Englewood.

Walter C. Andres, 77, who placed
American flags on the graves of
veterans in Tonawanda cemeteries for
more than 35 years, died Saturday
after a brief illness.
An Army veteran of World War I,
Mr. Andres had been employed at the
former Remington Rand plant in
Tonawanda for 37 years until he retired
in 1959. He resided at 284 Delaware St.
Mr. Andres compiles more than 2,000
hours as a volunteer worker at the
Buffalo Veterans Hospital and
received a citation for his service.
He was a member of Salem United
Church and past president of the
church council, past superintendent of
the Sunday school and a member of the
church choir.
In addition, he was a member of the
Tonawanda Exempt Volunteer
Firemen's Association; American
Legion Post 264; Ken-Ton Barracks,
World War I Veterans; a 50-year
member of National Hose Company,
and a charter member of the Post 264
Band.
Survivors include three sons, two
sisters, a brother and 11 grandchildren.
One of his sons, Lauren H. Andres, is a
composing room employe of the
Tonawanda NEWS.
Services will be conducted at 1:30
p.m. tomorrow at John O. Roth Funeral
Home, Morgan and William
Streets, Tonawanda, with the Rev
Karl H.A. Rest officiating. Burial will
be in Elmlawn Cemetery.

October 19, 2013 Marie Margaret McKinley Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Sat Oct 19, 2013, 02:40 PM EDT TONAWANDA — Marie Margaret (nee Mileham) McKinley, 90, born in Tonawanda, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family in Greenwich, CT. She had been living in Greenwich since 2005. She was born to the late Thomas Mileham and Eleanora Andres Mileham on November 28, 1922 in Tonawanda, NY. Marie graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1941. She married the late Donald T. McKinley, Sr. of Picton, Ontario in 1942 and they lived and raised a family together throughout the suburbs of the Greater Buffalo area, as well as other states. Marie was a homemaker. She was an avid traveler, having visited dozens of countries around the world. Marie also had a passion for dogs. She loved her Chihuahua, Toro, and her Siberian Husky, Bo. Marie was very interested in archeology and history. She loved the City of Buffalo and was very proud to have hailed from this area. Marie was an active member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda, as well as The Chapel in Amherst. Marie is survived by two children, Cathy J. Minio (Joseph) and David McKinley of Greenwich, CT. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Joseph C. Minio, Jr. of Rye, NY (Alissa), and Dr. Christopher M. Minio of Darien, CT. She is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Mark J. Minio and John P. Minio of Rye, NY. Marie was predeceased by her devoted husband, Donald; her three brothers, James, Robert and Thomas, Jr.; and her two sons, Michael K. McKinley and Donald T. McKinley, Jr. (Judith). Loving husband of 47 years to Donna (nee Taylor) Mileham; dearest father of David (Marlene) Mileham and Melanie (Brian) Swartz; grandfather of Olivia and Amber Mileham, Parker, Nolan and Alexandria Swartz; son of Norma (nee Remmele) Mileham and the late James T. Mileham; brother of Peggy (Robert) Williams and Richard (Debra) Mileham and brother-in- law of Wendy (John) Mangrum. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Tonawanda High School and received his B.S. and M.S. Degrees from State University College of New York at Buffalo. He retired from the Depew Union Free School District after 33 years of teaching. Bob was a life-long member of Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda where he served as church council president, trustee, member of the Board of Elders and was an active member of the church choir for over 70 years.
