    NORTH TONAWANDA — Rose (nee Nebelecky) Kline, 84, of Wheatfield, died Friday, February 24, 2012, surrounded by her family at the DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility. Rose was born and raised in North Tonawanda. She was a 1945 graduate of North Tonawanda High School. She worked locally after her graduation. Shortly after her marriage to Harold Kline, they moved to the gulf coast of Florida and resided in St. Petersburg, Largo and Ingles for over 30 years. After the death of her husband she returned to her hometown to be with family. Rose was a cake decorator at Publix Supermarket in Florida until her retirement. Her hobbies included needlework; sewing, knitting and crocheting. Rose was an avid reader. She was a volunteer at Elderwood at Crestwood.

    Rose was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was the daughter of the late Vasil and Anna Nebelecky. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; her sisters, Mary Ann (late Jean) St. Peter, Josephine (late Robert) Burnell; and her brothers, John and Walter Nebelecky. She is survived by one brother, Alfred (late Virginia) Nebelecky; and a sister-in-law, Christine (late Walter) Nebelecky; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11:30 AM, at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda. Memorials in her honor can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave., Ste. 319, Rochester, NY 14618; or to the American Heart Association, 20 Northpointe Pkwy., Ste. 130, Amherst, NY 14228.     NEBELECKY - Alfred Age 94, died at his home March 22, 2019 under the loving care of his family. AI was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He was born in the family home of Vasil and Anna on Payne Avenue. He attended public schools until his senior year when he was drafted due to the outbreak of World War II. His father proudly went to graduation to receive his diploma. While in school AI excelled in academics and athletics. He was a 2004 inductee to the North Tonawanda Football Hall of Fame. AI enlisted in the Army and served, he would tell you 3 years and 28 days. He reached the rank of Staff Sergeant in the 78th Infantry 310 Lightning Division-Company D. During WWII AI served in Europe. His infantry division was the first to cross into Cologne, Germany at the Remagen Bridgehead. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge at Hurtgen Forest. At the end of the war his unit supported the liberation of the Buchenwald Nazi Concentration Camp. He was a Bronze Star recipient. Upon returning home from the Army, AI met and married Virginia L. Newton of Buffalo. They were married for 63 years and had three children. AI worked into the 1990's as a cement mason, through the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 111 out of Niagara Falls. During retirement he and Virginia spent time at the family cabin, taking family vacations, playing cards, bowling and going to the Niagara Casino. AI loved to watch sports on television. His favorite teams were the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. For the past four years AI has been a client at the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Adult Day Services Center. AI's wife Virginia, eldest son Craig, along with his siblings; Mary Ann St. Peter, John Nebelecky, Josephine Burnell, Rose Kline and Walter Nebelecky, all predeceased him. He is survived by his son, Dennis (Wendy) Nebelecky; daughter, Deborah (Gary) Proefrock; daughter-in-law, Marjorie (Philip) Proch; four grandchildren, Gregory Nebelecky, Sara (Jeffrey) Nebelecky Whipple, Heather Proefrock and Jeremy Nebelecky; sisters and brothers-in-law; along with several nieces and nephews. A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorials can be made to Ralph C.
