    BARKER, Sept. 7.-Edwin' E.
    Arnold, 64 years old, former chairman
    of the Niagara county Board of
    Supervisors and one of the best known
    fruit growers of the town of Somerset,
    died late yesterday at the family
    home in the Lake road near this village.
    Mr. Arnold suffered & stroke
    about a week ago which culminated
    In his death.
    Funeral services will be held from
    the home on Friday afternoon at 3
    o'clock, standard time. The Rev.
    Ernest F. Scott, pastor of the Somerset
    Methodist Episcopal church, will
    officiate. Interment will be In Somerset
    cemetery.
    ' Mr. Arnold was born In the house in which he died, a son of the late
    Conroy and Sarah Arnold, pioneer
    settlers of the town of Somerset. He
    had been a farmer all his life and was
    an active worker in the Somerset M. E.
    church. lie formerly served as.
    superintendent of the Sunday school
    and held other Important positions In
    the church.
    - Mr- Arnold served as a member of
    the Board of Supervisors for' 14 years
    and as chairman for two years. He
    was a member of Somerset Grange.
    Mr. Arnold is survived by his
    Wdow. Mrs. May Thayer Arnold; two
    sons and two daughters, Milford. of
    Orchard Park, Carleton, Mrs. Beron
    Bateman and Mrs. Gerry Pask. all of
    marker; eight grandchilden and one
    Brother, Louis P. Arnold, of Barker.

    Born in Town of Somerset,
    he lived here since 1917 and
    was employed as a fire cap-
    tain at Bell Aerosystems Co.
    Niagara Falls.
    He was active in the Meth-
    odist Church here and Ran-
    somville Fire co., in which
    he taught first aid and once
    served aas fire chief. He was
    a member of the Moose Lodge
    of Rochester.
    Surviving are his wife,
    Erma Arnold: two daughters,
    Mrs. June Champlain, Addison.
    N.Y., and Mrs. Edgar
    Beecher. Niagara Falls; two
    sons. Elwin E. Arnold, Kenmore,
    and Rev. Neil Arnold,

    Neil L. Arnold of Fort Myers, FL entered peacefully into rest at the age of 93, Saturday, December 7, 2019.  He was born in Ransomville, NY on November 3, 1926.  Beloved husband of the late Patricia; dear father of Lynn Arnold, Katherine (Rev. Dr. James) Stevens, and Jane (Terry) Ford; grandfather of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his siblings and spouses Melva (Edgar) Beecher (Kirby) Craft, Elwin (Mattie) Arnold, and June (Charles) Champlain. On September 4, 2014 Neil and Patricia celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Neil was a minister for 40 years in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church, faithfully serving the Belmont/Phillips Creek, Hume/Fillmore, Perry, Newfane, Walworth/West Walworth, East Rochester and Clarence Center United Methodist Churches.  After retirement to Burt, NY, Neil and Pat moved to Fort Myers and enjoyed living in the Shell Point Retirement Community.
         A memorial service at the Newfane United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., 2699 North Main Street, Newfane, NY.  Interment will be in the Somerset Cemetery, Barker, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or Faith United Methodist Church, 15690 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908, would be appreciated by the family.

    Born May 18, 1927 in the Town of Somerset, NY, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Vernon and Lucille (Arnold) Bateman. She grew up in the Barker area on the family farm and spend the majority of her life in Millville, where she raised a family of three children. She worked for the S.A. Cook Furniture Co., waitressed at the Apple Grove Inn for many years and also worked at Fisher-Price Toys, where she retired from. Marilyn was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest in Millville. She enjoyed feeding her birds and spending time with family.
    Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Patricia Andrews, Roxanna Andrews and David Higgs; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Brian) Miller, Kevin Murphy, Terra Blount and Ryan Higgs; great-grandchildren, Brittany Murphy, Jeff Hamm, Erin Miller, Sophia and Natalie Blount, Wyatt and Lincoln Higgs, Ann Reinhardt, Corey Jepson and Jenna Beyer; sister Sandra (Lee) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents she is predeceased by sister, Arlene (late Van) Powley.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment in Hartland Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.

Joyce was born in Barker, NY May 16, 1932. She was a graduate of Barker Central School. She was a long time member of West Somerset Baptist Church and Barker Seniors. Joyce (Nana) loved her family and all the good times she had with them. Mother of Jeffrey (Michelle) Dewart of Barker, NY, Judith (Mark) Remington of Barker, NY, James (Cathy) Dewart of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jay (Angelia) Dewart of Spartenburg, SC, Jonathan (Amy) Dewart of Barker, NY and Jacqueline (Shawn Darlington)  Dewart of Williamsville, NY.     Edwin N. Beecher, 15, died
    Sunday (May 7, 1967) in Children's
    Hospital, Buffalo after
    several years of ill health.
    Edwin died while undergoing
    surgery; he was a victim of
    cystic fibrosis. A sister, Dorothy,
    predeceased him in 1959
    a victim of the same illness.
    Edwin was born in this city
    on May 17, 1951, and would
    have celebrated his 16th birth-
    day in another 10 days. He lived
    here all his life. He attended
    Cleveland Avenue School, grad-
    uated from North Junior High
    School, and was a grade 20 stu-
    dent at LaSalle Senior High
    School at the time of his death.
    He was a member of St.
    James Methodist Church.
    He is survived by his parents
    Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Beecher,
    a brother, Carl Beecher, and
    two sisters, Marian and Elsie
    Beecher, all at home. He is also
    survived by his grandparents,
    Mrs. M.P. Arnold, Ransomville,
    and Mrs. S. N. Beecher, Ken-
    more.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Rhoney Funeral Home
    Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the
    Rev. Bertram M. Croop. of St.
    James Methodist Church, and
    an uncle, Rev. Neil Arnold, of
    Newfane Methodist Church, of
    ficiating. Burial will be in Riv-
    erdale Cemetery.
    Friends may call after 10 a.m.
    Tuesday. the family will be
    present from 2 to 5 p.m. and
    7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
