Mrs. Sophia B. Babcock, 71 years old,
wife of Cyrus Babcock and a lifelong
resident of this city, died at her. home,
9526 Pine avenue, at 12.40 a. m. today,
following a heart attack. Funeral services
will be held Thursday afternoon
at the home o f her daughter, Mrs.
"Tarr McCarthy, 10102 Buffalo avenue.
Mrs. Babcock was born in ^Niagara
Falls, daughter of the late George and
Mary Greenwald. She had lived here
all her life and had a wide circle of
friends in the city. Besides her husband,
she is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. McCarthy and Mrs. Wesley
Hayes, of this city, and Mrs. William
Nolan, of Buffalo, and one son, Lester
Babcock, of this city.

George J. Babcock, 21 years old,
of the Niagara Fall; boulevard, La-
Salle, a former resident of the Grat-
wick section of North Tonawanda,
died yesterday after a lingering ill-
ness. He was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Cyrus Babcock, at whose home
he died. The funeral will he held tomorrow
afternoon at 2:30 from the
late residence Rev. Mark Shenton of
the LaSalle M. E. Church officiating.
Burial will be at Elmlawn.
Besides his parents, Babcock Ifl
survived by two brothers. Henry and
Lester Babcock. and three sisters
Mrs. William Newman, Mrs. Henry
McCarthy and Mrs. Wilsey R. Hayes
of LaSalle.
