NORTH TONAWANDA. Dec. 29
- Stricken with a heart attack
yesterday. Supervisor Anthony W.
Brick. Sr.. 73., of 65 Christiana
street, died at 8 o'clock this morning
at the DeGraff Memorial hospital.
For the last 14 years Mr. Brick
had represented the first, ward of
this city on the board of supervisors
and was re-elected last November
for two additional years.
Born in Buffalo he became a
resident here 50 years ago and was
identified with the lumber business
most of that time. His first
position was secretary of the 811-
verthorn Lumber company, a position
he held until the firm went
out of business 20 years ago. He
then engaged in the wholesale
lumber business on his own for 30
years. (
Mr. Brick was a leader in the
Republican party here and besides
acting as supervisor he served
BS a member of the police commission
here for many years and
was also a member of the Republican
City committee.
He was a member of Ascension
church and the Holy Name society.
He was also a member of trie
B.P.O. Elks, of which he was a past
exalted ruler.
Surviving are six sons. William,
Cyril, Cornelius; Anthony, \V. Jr.,
Oeorge and Robert, all of this
city; three, daughters, Mrs. Josephine
KeppeJ, of Kenmore, Mrs. Alma
Balling and Mrs. Delores Gosch,
of this city; 18 grandchildren; three
brothers, Thomas Brick, of Niagara
Falls, Nicholas and Joseph Brick,
of Buffalo, and three sisters, Nellie
Brick, of Buffalo. Leona Brick, of
Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Veronica
Tyrel, of Depew.
The funeral will be held Wednesday
morning at 8:30 o'clock from
the residence with services at Ascension
church at ft o'clock. The Rev.
Francis J. Hunt will officiate. Interment
will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery

William A. Brick, Jr., 16, of 228
Thompson St., a junior at North
Tonawanda High School, died yesterday
in Kenmore Mercy Hospital
after a short illness.
He was a lifelong resident of
North Tonawanda and a graduate
of Ascension Parochial School.
Bill was a member of the NTHS
varsity football team this year but
did not see action in any of the
regular games because of an arm
fracture received in pre-season
practice. He was active in school
programs and very popular among
his' classmates, Principal George
L. Lowry said this morning.
Surviving besides his parents,
William. Sr., and Florence Sequin
Brick, are two sisters, Mrs. William
Jacques and Miss Phyllis
Brick, all of North Tonawanda.
Funeral services will be held in
the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam
St., at 8:30 a.m. Monday and in

She is survived by her sons, Luke Hammond of Colden and Jay Hammond of West Falls, and a daughter, Nikki Offhaus of Orchard Park; three sisters, Barbara Tucker of the Town of Tonawanda, Martha (Dr. Rick) Logigian of Rochester and Alma Wojcieszek of Wheatfield; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Alma Balling and was predeceased by two brothers, Henry and Paul Balling. Mrs. Hammond was head of the art department and taught art at St. Mary's High School in Lancaster for 36 years. Mrs. Hammond was an active member of the East Aurora Art Society and showed her art work at many art shows in the Western New York Area. She achieved numerous awards for her work including at the Allentown Art Festival. Her work was primarily in pen and ink as well as watercolor and other mediums. She was president of the New York Forest Owners Association Niagara Frontier Chapter and a Master Forest Owner; a volunteer at Alden Meals on Wheels and the Millgrove Fire Company's Women's Auxiliary. Following her retirement, Mrs. Hammond worked at Adams Nursery in Bowmansville and as an Alden Crossing Guard. RICK III - Anthony William
78, of North Tonawanda, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Anthony was born in Boston on October 31, 1944 to Mary Lois (Evans) Brick and Anthony W. Brick, Jr. Anthony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who lived his whole life in North Tonawanda surrounded by his large family. He was a proud father of eight who delighted in keeping up with the lives of his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Tony was a mechanical genius who could make anything he envisioned out of wood or metal. He was a machinist and toolmaker by trade and his hobbies included restoring his 1954 MG, building furniture and cabinetry, and fixing and building anything for anyone who asked. Tony had a deep love of music-all genres-as well as an independent mind and a slightly twisted sense of humor that he passed down to all eight of his children. He was intellectually curious and had an enthusiasm for life with a daredevil streak that mellowed slightly with age. He was one of a kind and will be keenly missed by all who knew him. Anthony was predeceased by his parents and his son, Paul M. Brick. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Marion (Morris) Brick; his children Bernadette (Jason Brightman), Joseph (Claire Ettema), Anthony (Danielle Hart), Carmen, John (Cathleen Ryan), Elizabeth, and Theresa; and his grandchildren Kyra, Kaylin, Nathaniel, Sylvia, and Paige Ettema Williams. He is also survived by his brothers Daniel (Kathleen), Gwilym (Kathleen), Kevin (Barbara Kloch), Brendan (Deborah), and Regis; sister Marylois Stanziano (Stephen); and many nieces and nephews.
