LYNDONVILLE. Dee. 12- Newton
J. Barry. 80. director of the Citizens'
State Bank of Lyndonville, died of
a stroke today at his home, 112
North Main street.
Services will be held at the home
at 2 30 Saturday, the Rev. W Edward
Gill officiating Burial win be in
Lvnhaven cemetery,
Mr. Barry. son of the late Rich-
ard and Mary Barry had been a
lifelong resident of the Town of
Yates and until his retirement five
years ago he operated a produce
business. He was a member of the
Methodist church and had served
on the village school board
Three sons, Frank, Mark and
Stanley Barry, four grandchildren,
and five great-grandchildren,,
and five great-grandchildren, all of
Lyndonville, survive.

Newton married SWAIN, Flora A on 23 Oct 1881. Flora was born in Sep 1858 in New York; died on 23 Aug 1931 in Lyndonville, Town of Yates, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

LYNDONVILLE, Sept. 13 - A 65-
year-old retired coal dealer, Frank
S. Barry, burned to death early
today when fire of undetermined
origin destroyed a two-story frame
house on the farm of his son-in-law,
Leonard Oakes. who lives east of
this village.
Mr; and Mrs. Oakes were in
Troy wren the tragedy occurred.
They drove there over the weekend
to return their son, Barry, to
college.
The fire was discovered about
1:30 this morning by a neighbor,
Paul Parsons, who called the Lyndonville
Fire Company. The struc-
ture was a blazing inferno when
firemen arrived.
Mr. Barry's charred body was
recovered by firemen about 3:30
and Dr. David Fraser. Orleans
County coroner. Issued a certificate
of accidental death by burning.
A native of Lyndonville whehe ne
was born June 6, 1883, Mr. Barry
was the oldest son of the late Newton
and Flora Swain Barry- His
wife, Mabel Baughn, died 10 years
ago.
Survivors, in addition to Mrs.
Oakes, Include two daughters, Mrs.
Rufus Caldwell, Lake Katonah.
N.Y.. and Miss Bemardine Barry.
Oceanslde, LI.', two brothers, Mark
and Stanley Barry, both of Lyn-
donville, and four grandchildren.

Frank married VAUGHN, Mabel V on 27 Oct 1904. Mabel (daughter of VAUGHN, Russell and Theresa) was born about 1878 in Springville, Erie County, NY; died on 9 Sep 1935 in Lyndonville, Town of Yates, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mark married WOOLSTON, Mabel C on 10 Jun 1908 in Yates Center, Orleans County, NY. Mabel (daughter of WOOLSTON, Edward F) was born on 14 Oct 1887 in New York; died in Jun 1974 in Lyndonville, Town of Yates, Orleans County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

LYNDONVILLE: - Stanley
R. Barry Sr.. 77, of N. Main
St., a retired produce and farm
supply dealer, died Sunday in
Medina Memorial Hospital
where he had been a patient for
about three months.
Born Dec. 16, 1891 in Lyndonville,
he was a son of Newton
J. and Flora Swain Barry, and
had been a lifelong resident
here. ,
Mr. Barry operated his own
farm supply busi-
ness in Waterport for about 45
years before his retirement.
He was married to the former
Miss Alice Reagan of Fulton
n 1917. The couple celebrated
their golden anniversary in 1967.
Mr. Barry was a member of
the Board of Assessors of the
Town of Yates and a director
of the Citizen's State Bank.
Surviving, besides his widow,
are two sons, Dr. John R. Barry
of Athens, Ga... and Stanley
R. Barry Jr. of Lyndonville;
nine grandchildren; a brother,
Mark P. Barry of Lyndonville
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
atxl 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smythe
Funeral Home here, where funeral
services will be conducted
at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The
Rev. Albert Bosack will officiate.
Burial-will be in Lynhaven
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may
be made to American Cancer
Society of Lyndonville Foundation.

LYNDONVILLE, Feb. 20. Miss
Mary Barry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Mark P. Barry, 186 North Main street,,
died Thursday afternoon of pneumonia
in the Millard Fillmore hospital, Buf-
falo.
Miss Barry was bom Feb. 28. 1913, In
this village. She was a graduate of
Lyndonville high school, and last fall
she entered-the hospital, where she was
taking a course In nursing.
She was a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church and Sunday school
and a great favorite among the young
people.
Besides her parents, she is survived
by one sister. Miss Winifred Barry.
Funeral services will be held Sunday
at 3 p. m., In the home, conducted by
the Rev. A. E. Harris, acting minister
of the Presbyterian church, and Rev.
Frederick Mlttlefehldt of the Methodist
church.
I n t e r m e n t will be In Lynhaven cemetery.
