    Sharon Bars


    Bars, Sharon of Lockport, NY passed away on Sunday November 29, 2015 at home. Born on November 18, 1945 in Hamburg, NY, she was the daughter of Clark and Maxine Carroll Clendening. Sharon and her husband of 52 years, John C. Bars, were married on September 14, 1963. After 25 years, Sharon retired from Delphi Thermal Systems. She was a member and very involved in Bible study and the knitting group and as an office volunteer of Christ Community Church as well as a member of the Dale Association. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.


    Surviving are Sharon’s husband, John C. Bars; children, Marie (David) Boyles of VA, Lisa C. (Terry Eldridge) Noreck of Amherst, Beth (Thomas) Thomson and Douglas Bars both of Lockport; 6 grandchildren, Alyssa, Caitlin and Christopher Boyles, Brandon and Haley Noreck and Tommy Thomson; brothers, Earl (Linda) Clendening and Thomas (Marie) Clendening and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother David (late Janice) Clendening, Sharon was a special friend to many.


    Friends may call on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 PM from Christ Community Church, 140 Genesee St., Lockport, NY. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery.     GASPORT — Evelyn B. Payne, of Barker, NY, wife of the late Walter Payne, entered into rest Saturday, September 18, 2010, in Absolut Health Care Facility, Gasport, NY. She was born in Lockport, NY, February 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy Neumann Bars. Evelyn’s husband, Walter Payne died in 1997. She had lived in Barker, NY since 1953. Evelyn enjoyed reading and traveling.

    Mother of Keith (Wasana) Payne of Barker, NY, Carolyn Secher of Texas and the late Clayton and Richard Bars. Sister of John (Sharon) Bars of Lockport, Ethel Ogden of Newfane, Barbara (George) Daskavitz of Rochester, NY. Also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1708 Pallister Ave., Barker, NY, TUESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice or Lupus Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

    GASPORT - the death
    Saturday of a 55-year-old
    Gasport resident has been
    ruled a suicide by a Niagara
    County Coroner, according to
    Wrights Corners State Police.
    Richard C. Bars, of 7834
    Chestnut Ridge Road, was
    found dead in his car in the
    parking lot of the Terry's
    Comers fire hall at about 2:30
    p.m., having suffered a gunshot
    wound to the head.
    State Police said that a 12-
    guage shotgun, a spent shell,
    and a suicide note were found in
    tiie car. He was pronounced
    dead at the scene by county
    Coroner Louis Raymond.
    Bars had been a volunteer
    member of the fire company
    for 20 years.

    Theresa Brandt
    January 21, 1954 - December 25, 2023

    Beloved mother, grandmother, wife and sister, Theresa Brandt (Ogden) of Williamsville, NY, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, at age 69 after her brave battle with triple negative breast cancer. Born on January 21, 1954, in Lockport, NY, she was raised in Newfane, NY by her late parents Russell and Ethel Ogden. Theresa graduated from Newfane High School and later from SUNY Morrisville. She was extremely proud of her long career at Harrison Radiator and Delphi Thermal Systems, where she excelled, and made several lifelong friends.
    Theresa is survived by her husband, Scott Brandt, and siblings Kathleen (Darryl) May, Clayton (Barb) Ogden and Diane Heminway. She is also survived by her son Adam (Amber) Moran and daughter Shannon (Erik) LeMoullec. Theresa was blessed with six grandchildren, Conlan and Brannen Moran, and Hayden, Reese, Ryder, and Harlow LeMoullec whom she adored and loved spending time with.
    An accomplished runner, Theresa enjoyed participating in local races and completed four marathons. She loved to cook and took pride in the joy it brought to others. Favorite pastimes of hers were ballroom dancing with her husband, and having lunch with her girlfriends, where they would sit and laugh for hours. In retirement, Theresa enjoyed spending time in Florida with her husband and dear friends.
    A celebration of life will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, Theresa's wishes were for donations to be made to: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation or The Susan G. Komen Foundation.
