    Bartenstein. 64, veteran officer of
    the Lockport Police Department for
    24 years who died Sunday morning
    (Oct. 13. 1957) at Lockport Memorial
    Hospital, will be held at
    8 30 Wednesday morning at Kennedy
    Funeral Home and at 9 at
    St. John's Catholic Church.
    Patrolman Bartenstein, 62 Chapel
    St., who was admitted to the
    hospital Thursday, died of a heart
    attack.
    A native of Lockport, Patrol-
    Bartenstein appointed to
    the Police Department Jan. 4, 1933.
    He had previously served two
    years on the Fire Department and
    three on the Park Department.
    Patrolman Bartenstein was born
    in Lockport July 4, 1893, the son
    of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bartenstein.
    He attended Lockport Senior
    High School and St. Mary's Parochial
    School.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hel-
    en Gray Bartenstein; three daugh
    ters, Miss Rosemary Bartenstein,
    Mrs. Roger P. Rieger and Mrs.
    Samuel Quagliano; two sons, La-
    Verne and Robert C; and 10
    grandchildren.
    A veteran of World War I, he
    was a member of B. Leo Dolan
    Post 410, American Legion. He
    was a member of St. John's
    Church and the Hickory Club of
    the Lockport Police Department.
    Burial will be in St. Patrick's
    Cemetery.

    LOCKPORT — Joan M. Quagliano, of Lockport, entered into rest Saturday, August 18, 2012. Born March 10, 1928 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Gray Bartenstien.

    Joan graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1946. Joan was a full-time mother and house- keeper, but found time to volunteer as an aide at St. Clare Manor. Referred to as "Ma" by everyone, she will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Joan performed into her late 70s as a member of the Lockport Kitchen Bag Ladies Dance Troupe. Joan will be remembered for her vast collection of hats dubbed "hatattitude" by all of her friends.

    Joan is survived by her husband of 65 years, Samuel F. "Honey" Quagliano, Sr. Mother of Diane M. (late Darrel) Sherwin, Charles R. (Roxanne) Quagliano, Samuel F. (Debra) Quagliano, Jr., Michael P. (Jeanine) Quagliano and Nicholas A. Corrallo. Grandmother of Jennifer (Michael) Marotta, Adam (Jennifer) Quagliano, Jonathan (Dawn) Fooks, Luca C.P. Quagliano and Lexie T.C. Quagliano. Great-grandmother of Jake and Emily Marotta, Johny Star Fooks, Mia Quagliano and Kuira Crimes. Sister of the late Eileen (late Roger) Rieger, Rosemary Bartenstien, Eugene "Brud" (late June) Bartenstien and Robert (late Rose) Bartenstien. Also survived by relatives and friends.

    No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut St., on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM. Arrangements by Provenzano Memorial Chapel. Mark C. Provenzano, Director.
