NORTH TONAWANDA, March 2-
Mrs, Frances C. Hempel. 48 years old,
wife of Edward R- Hempel, died today
at her home. 451 Robinson street.
She was a lifelong resident of the
Civic Cub. She was a member of
Ascension church, the Altar society
and the Girls' Sodality.
Besides her husband, she is survived
by a daughter, Roberta; two
sons, Robert and Richard; her mother
Mrs. Helen Rathgeber, of this city;
two sisters Helen Rathgeber, of Buffalo,
and Mrs, Lillian B. Ilyea. of
Detroit, and two brothers. William
Rathgeber. of Buffalo, and Walter,
of this city.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at
8:30 a. m. from the home and at
9 from Ascension church. Interment
will be In Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Francis married HEMPEL, Edward Robert on 17 Jun 1913 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. Edward was born on 22 Nov 1889 in New York; died in Mar 1979 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Word has been received of the
death of William G. Rathgeber, a
former resident of North Tonawanda.
who -died. Sept. 1 at the
age of 66.
He had lived in Washington
DC. for the past 25 years. He was
a lieutenant in the guard system
for the Central Intelligence Agency.
He was a veteran of World
War I, a former member of the
Eldredge Club and Post 264.
American Legion. He also was
member of the Legion band.
He is survived by three nephews
and a niece, Robert, Richard
Roberta Hempel of North Tona-
wanda and Hugh Bilyea of Huron,
Burial was with full military
honors in Arlington National hospital here Saturday following
Cemetery.

Walter (Bugh) Rathgeber, age
53, of 316 Niagara St.. North
Tonawanda, died yesterday in
the DeGraff Memorial Hospital
after a brief illness. He was alifelong
resident of North Tonawanda,
a general accountant
and realtor; a member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles Tonawanda's
Aerie No. 1411, the Eldredge
Bicycle Club and The Tonawanda's
Sportsmen's Club, Inc.
He is survived by a sister, R.
Helen Rathgeber of Buffalo, a
brother, William W., of Washington,
D. C. and s e v e r a l
nephews. Friends may call at
the Hamp Funeral Home, 37
Adam St., where funeral services
will be conducted at 8:30
a.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. in
St. Francis Church. The Rt. Rev.
Msgr. John A. Weismantel will
officiate. Burial in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.
