BATT - Mrs. Mary E. Batt, 79,
of 206 Traverse Blvd., Kenmore,
N.Y., died Wednesday (April 24,
1963) at E. J. Meyer Memorial
Hospital, Buffalo, after a brief
illness. Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Batt
resided in North Tonawanda for
the greatest part of her life before
moving to Kenmore nine
years ago. She was a member of
the Ladies of Charity of Ascension
Church and the auxiliary of
Tonawandas Post 264, American
Legion. Her husband, Eugene A.
Batt, died in February, 1944. Surviving
are a daughter, Mrs. Frank
Kocsis of Kenmore, with whom
she resided; two sons, Eugene E.
Batt of Buffalo and Robert F.
Batt of Tonawanda; seven grandchildren;
a great - grandchild, and
two sisters, Mrs. Rose Cox of
North Tonawanda and Mrs. Harriet
Connolly of Buffalo. The family
will be present 2 - 4 and 7 - 9
p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home
Inc., Adam - Seymour Streets,
Tonawanda, where prayers will be
said at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed
by a Requiem High Mass in Ascension
Church at 9:30. The Rev.
Francis J. Hunt will officiate. Burial
in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Notes:

Robert F. Batt, age 101, formerly of Tonawanda, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Elderwood at Wheatfield. Born April 18, 1916 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary (nee Fitzpatrick) Batt. He was a decorated Army Veteran of WWII, participating in both the D-Day Invasion of France and the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a self-employed painter and paper hanger in the Tonawandas before retiring and had been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda.
He was the husband of Delores (nee Behm) Batt; father of Kathleen (the late Richard) Patrick of Lockport and the late Pamela Mae Batt, Robert F. Batt, Jr., and Janet (Jay) Holler. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Susan Batt of San Diego, California; 5 grandchildren, Steven (Barbara) Ford of Highland Heights, Ohio, Douglas Ford of Lockport, Eric (Traci) Ford of Medina, Hannah (Dustin) Carey of South Carolina, and Nicholas Batt of Chicago, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Carolyn, Suzanne, and Allison Ford, all of Highland Heights, Ohio.
Services will be cared for privately at the convenience of the family with inurnment at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel Columbarium in Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the St. Francis Chapel Fund, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, New York 14150, are preferred.

Delores (daughter of BEHM, Franz Friedrich and URTEL, Alma Olga Mariette) was born on 21 Jun 1919 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; died on 19 Apr 2020 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY. BATT - Robert Francis, Jr. Age 60, passed away in San Diego, July 24, 2012 from complications of mantle cell lymphoma. Born March 7, 1952 and graduated from Tonawanda High School and SUNY-Delhi, his career in foodservice design took him to Washington, DC, Pittsburgh and Ohio. He worked at KFC Headquarters, where he enjoyed communicating with "The Colonel" via CB radio. Rob moved to San Diego in 1982 to work for Foodmaker (Jack-in-the-Box) before opening Rob Batt Design in 1985. He was self-employed for 16 years. In 2001 he began his favorite position as Associate Director of Planning and Construction for Housing-Dining-Hospitality at University of California - San Diego. Rob loved the outdoors and every activity his children were involved in. His creative mind, sense of humor, generous heart, strength and devotion to family and friends endeared him to all. Survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan; daughter, Hannah; son, Nicholas; parents, Delores and Robert Batt of Clearwater, FL (formerly of Tonawanda); sister, Kathleen Patrick of Lockport, NY; nephews, Steven Ford (Barbara), Douglas Ford, and Eric Ford (Traci); and Godmother, Janet Holler of Tonawanda. Preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Batt, in 2000. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Francis Chapel or to Niagara Hospice, Sunset Drive in Lockport.

Obituary

Douglas R. Ford, age 58, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Takoma Park, MD, and resided in Lockport, NY. Doug loved his family dearly. His humor and quick wit will be missed by everyone who knew him. Beloved son to Kathleen Patrick and the late Charles Ford. Cherished brother to Eric and Steven (Barbara) Ford. Loving uncle to Carolyn, Suzanne, Allison, and Mitchell Ford, of Ohio. A private family service will be held in remembrance of Doug. If so desired, please make memorial donations to the St. Francis Chapel Columbarium Maintenance Fund.
