    Lewis F. Lauer Sr., 64, of 754 Monteagle St., died Friday after a long illness at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lauer was traffic manager for the Stauffer Chemical Co., for 20 years. He worked for the company for 45 years. He was born in Lancaster but had lived most of his life in this city. He was a member of the Stauffer Chemical Management Club, the 25-year-club of the company; the Niagara Falls Traffic Management Club and the Niagara Falls Industrial Management Club. He was a member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church where he was a past vestryman and Sunday school teacher. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian M. Lauer; four sons, Lewis F. Lauer Jr., Youngstown, Paul P., Richard A. and Arthur W. Lauer; and a daughter, Mrs. Karl (Diane) Havens, all of this city; two brothers, Elmer B. Lauer, Hamilton Square, N.J*., and Harold C. Lauer, Gowanda; several nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late H. Arthur Lauer, this city. Friends may call at the Cornell and Daggett Chapel, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Epiphany Episcopal Church with Rev. John E. Widkenden, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.     YOUNGSTOWN — Lewis F. Lauer, 86, formerly of Youngstown, NY, passed away under the loving care of his family and hospice on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Newark, DE. Born on October 13, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, Lew was the son of the late Lewis and Lillian (Pearson) Lauer and the oldest of five children.

    A 1943 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, he served our country with the US Army, 28th Infantry Division, in Europe during World War II from 1944-46. He attended Niagara and Cornell Universities. Lew was employed at Ayers Witmer Lumber in Niagara Falls and Frontier Lumber Company in Buffalo, retiring in 1989. Lew was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, where he served as a Deacon and was a longtime choir member. He was a member of two local singing groups, The Mary Mitchell Singers and The Good Sound. He loved his family, his church, his music and his flowers.

    He married Suzanne Kolloff in 1952 and was predeceased by her in 1991. Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Lauer of Niagara Falls; daughter, Tracy Lauer, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Michael Melville; and grandchildren, Timothy and Sarah, of Newark, DE. He is also survived by his sister and friend, Dianne Havens of Niagara Falls; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, Richard and Arthur.

    Burial will be private. A memorial service to celebrate Lew's life will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Music Fund of the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth and Ridge Sts., Lewiston.

    LAUER - Arthur W. 9/4/2002
    NIAGARA FALLS - Arthur W. Lauer of Butler, Ohio, a native of Niagara Falls and a former Carborundum Co. employee, died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002) of injuries suffered in a traffic accident several weeks ago in Morrow County, Ohio. He was 63.

    Lauer was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. He received an associate's degree from Erie County Technical Institute and a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo.

    He moved to Ohio in 1974.

    Lauer's first job was with the former Nabisco plant, and he then worked for 33 years for Carborundum. After retiring from Carborundum, he was employed by Altek International and at the time of his death was working at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

    He enjoyed motorcycling, boating, swimming and fishing. He was a member of the Church of God in Anderson, Ind.

    Lauer is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cynthia; four sons, Donald A. of Wheatfield, Douglas A. of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Daniel A. of the City of Tonawanda and Paul A. of Fredericktown, Ohio; a brother, Lewis F. Jr. of Youngstown; a sister, Dianne Havens of Niagara Falls; and five grandchildren.

    A memorial service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
