    Notes:

    Anthony J. Caraglin, Ret. N.F.P.D. passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood in the Town of Wheatfield, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Giovanni and Giovanna (Soro) Caraglin.

    Anthony was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. During World War II he served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1948. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation. He began working at National Carbon in Niagara Falls as a truck driver from 1948 until being called back to active service during the Korean War from 1950 until September 13, 1951. Following his discharge from the Marines he continued working at National Carbon until he became a member of the Niagara Falls Police Department in 1956 until retiring in 1985.

    Anthony was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls. He enjoyed going to his cabin in the Southern Tier with his family and friends.

    Anthony was predeceased by his wife Inez D. (D’Andrea) Caraglin who he married on April 15, 1950 at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He is survived by one son Anthony J. Caraglin, Jr. and was predeceased by one son Robert (Colleen) Caraglin. He is also survived by three grandchildren Shannon (Bill) Fundis, Janelle (Jeff) Vicki and Christopher Caraglin; one great granddaughter Lillian Fundis, one sister-in-law Zania (late Paul) Schiro and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one grandson Robert Caraglin, three sisters Bonita (late Stan) Kawara, Sr. Jean Patrice Caraglin and Mary (late Anthony) Tedesco, two brothers James (late Kay) Caraglin and Frank (Dorothy) Caraglin. He was the son-in-law of the late Angelo and Angela D’Andrea and brother-in-law of the late Joseph (late Esther) Taddie, Arnie (late Mary) D’Andrea, Lillian (late Mario) DeMarchi and Sylvia (late Joseph) Metro.

    Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 1st at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY Flowers are graciously declined.     Robert Caraglin, 61, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born on April 2, 1954 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Anthony J. Caraglin, Sr., NFPD-Ret. of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Inez (D'Andrea) Caraglin. On May 15, 1976, Robert married the former Colleen O'Shea in Niagara Falls, NY.

    Mr. Caraglin was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. Robert attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He was employed as a laborer for Carbon Graphite in Niagara Falls. Robert was a well-respected baseball coach for the Cayuga Youth Athletic Association and an avid hockey and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He loved spending time with his family at his cabin in the southern tier.

    In addition to his wife of over thirty-nine years, Mr. Caraglin is survived by three children, Shannon (Bill) Fundis of Lewiston, NY, Janelle (Jeff) Vicki of the Town of Niagara, NY and Chris Caraglin of the Town of Niagara, NY and was predeceased by his beloved son, Robert Caraglin and two infant sons. Robert is also survived by one granddaughter, Lilly Fundis; one brother, Anthony J. Caraglin, Jr. of Grand Island, NY; a close cousin, Frankie Caraglin and family and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Visitation will be on Thursday, November 19th, from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Flowers are respectfully declined. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.     Life story

    Christopher Caraglin, 36, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on January 24, 2020.  Born on October 6, 1983 in Lewiston, NY, he was the son of Colleen (O’Shea) Caraglin and the late Robert Caraglin.

    Chris, as he was known, was a lifelong Town of Niagara resident, attended local schools  and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 2002. He was currently employed for Thomason Concrete Construction as well as the Niagara Reporter.  Chris enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in the southern tier. 

    In addition to his mother, Chris is survived by sisters, Shannon (Bill) Fundis and Janelle (fiancé Rick Haight) Vicki; longtime girlfriend, Alyssa DePetris; nieces, Lilly and Nora Fundis; uncle, Anthony Caraglin, Jr. and several other aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by two infant brothers and a brother, Robert Caraglin; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Inez Caraglin, Sr. (NFPD ret.) and maternal grandparents, John and Maryann O’Shea.

    Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with family friend, Rev. Alice DePetris Feucht.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
