Mrs. Helen Rubbert
Mrs. Helena Rubbert, 27 years old, wife of Edward A. Rubbert of the Niagara Falls Boulevard, near Bergholtz, died at the Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls Wednesday night after an illness of two weeks with typhoid fever. Besides her husband, Mrs. Rubbert is survived by one daughter, Miss Matilda Rubbert, her mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina Roggow of Bergholtz; two sisters, Mrs. Melvina Buck of Niagara Falls and Miss Martha Roggow of Buffalo, and one brother, William Hidde of Bergholtz. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Rubberts mother and half an hour later from the Holy Ghost church at Bergholtz. Rev. A Starck officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Ghost cemetery.

himself, died Sunday (July 30, 1967) in Memorial

Forms for 40 years, and retired
in 1954 as planning department

WHEATFIELD - Mathilda Melvinie Ella Jagow (Rubbert), age 93, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on December 1, 2010 at her residence, with her loving family at her side and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on August 24, 1917 to the late Edward and Helena (Roggow) Rubbert. A devoted lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she was active with the Ladies Aid, the Quilters and was employed as the custodian for the church and school for many years. She was also a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens and enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, gardening and baking.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry E. Jagow on March 19, 1946. They were united in marriage January 24, 1934; and a son, Delbert Jagow.

Survivors include four children, Leonard Jagow of Villages, FL, Donald Jagow of Niagara Falls, Norman Jagow of Machias, NY, and Helen Jagow of Niagara Falls; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Arlene L. Jerla, age 85 of Wilson, died Sunday October 1, 2017 in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Facility in Lockport, after a brief illness.
Arlene was born July 10, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Glynn and Emma (Buck) Wilson. Her mother, Emma, died when she was 6 years old and she was raised by her step mother, the late Mildred (Julius) Wilson. Arlene was a 1950 graduate of Youngstown High School and received an Associate's Degree from Cherry Valley School of Business. She was employed as a Billing Clerk by Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for 22 years. On November 28, 1953 she married Henry C. Jerla and they have resided in Wilson since 1961.
Arlene enjoyed reading, crocheting, and using her computer. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; a son, Glynn (Patricia) Jerla of Lockport; a daughter, Karen (Duane) Runge of Wilson; her grandchildren, Brandon (Devon) Jerla, Eric and Andrew Runge ; three great grandsons; a brother, Harold "Sonny" (Marlene) Westcott; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Jerla; a sister, Lois Gombert; and a step sister, Ruth Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville. There will be no prior visitation. Lois L. Gombert, age 86, of Ransomville, passed away peacefully in her home under the loving care of her family on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Lois was born October 18, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Glynn and Emma (Buck) Wilson, and Mildred (Julius) Wilson. Emma passed away when Lois was six years old. Lois was a graduate of Youngstown High School. On July 23, 1955 she married Irwin R. Gombert and they moved to Ransomville. Lois was employed by the Billing Department of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston for 14 years, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild. Lois also sang with the "Lewiston Larks." She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and of the Lewiston Senior Center, where she enjoyed traveling with the Senior Group. She also served as a Niagara County Election Inspector for many years. Lois loved needlepoint and crocheting, and made many knit hats for infants for the Knitting for Women Organization.

Her husband, Irwin, predeceased her in 1996. She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Kelley) Gombert of Ransomville, and Barry (Nancy) Gombert of Rochester, NY; her grandchildren: Carolyn, Elizabeth, George, Karly, and Bryce Gombert; a sister, Arlene (Henry) Jerla of Wilson; and a brother, Harold "Sonny" (Marlene) Westcott of Arkansas. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Molly Gombert, and a sister, Ruth (late Tower) Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, 14174, with the Rev. Richard Blemaster officiating. Delbert M. Jagow, a retired orderly, died Saturday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 72.
Born in Wheatfield, he attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Niagara Falls High School.
Mr. Jagow, a Korean War-era veteran of the Navy, was employed as an orderly in hospitals and nursing homes in New York and North Carolina.
He enjoyed flea markets, antiques and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Ann Barrett of Niagara Falls; three daughters, Diane Barrett of Morganton, Nina Carter of Salemsburg, N.C., and Tina Offhaus of the City of Tonawanda; two sons, Charles Harris of Cogatteville, S.C., and Bruce Johnson of North Tonawanda; his mother, Mathilda of Niagara Falls; a sister, Helen M. of Niagara Falls; three brothers, Leonard, Donald and Norman, all of Wheatfield; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Bergholz.

CAMBRIA — Donald J. Jagow, age 74, of Cambria, was called to his heavenly home on December 18, 2010 at his residence after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on January 11, 1936 to the late Henry and Mathilda (Rubbert) Jagow.

He was retired from the Niagara Falls Air Force Base, working with the grounds and maintenance department for 25 years. Don attended the Niagara Community Church, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Marlatt) Jagow, in 1993.

Survivors include four children, Deborah L. (Timothy) Wynes of Cambria, Gary M. Jagow of Tonawanda, James Jagow of Amherst and Russell L. (Susan) Jagow of Pendleton; two brothers, Leonard Jagow of Villages, FL and Norman Jagow of Machias, NY; a sister, Helen Jagow of Niagara Falls; eight grandchildren, Justin and Jonelle Powley, Ashley Wynes, Samantha, Allison and James Jagow Jr., David and Adam Hagen; and many good friends and fishing buddies. Norman E. Jagow, age 75, of North Tonawanda, NY, was called peacefully to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Niagara Hospice on June 18, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry and Mathilda (Rubbert) Jagow. Norman was a graduate of Trott Vocational in Niagara Falls and was employed at Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield and later owned and operated the N&J Christmas Tree Farm. He was a longtime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield and a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. Norman was a lifetime member of Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company and member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, and Western New York Christmas Tree Assoc. Hobbies and interests included hunting and outdoor activities.
Predeceased by his wife, Joan (Ferchen) Jagow, he is survived my his former wife, Constance Jagow; five children, Doris (Scott) Leaderstorf of North Tonawanda, Janice (Donald) Piatkowski of Harrington, DE, Edward (Tina) Jagow of North Tonawanda; two step-sons, David and Mark Ferchen; five grandchildren, Travis and Russell Leaderstorf, Samantha, Katherine and Jay Piatkowski; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Charolette Teel; a brother, Leonard Jagow of Florida; a sister, Helen Jagow of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
