    Conrad Behrens, Jr., 10108 Buffalo
    avenue, for a number of years
    a Democratic city committeeman,
    died today at Memorial hospital
    after a short illness. He was 71
    years of age.
    Mr. Behrens, a native of this
    city, served as committeeman for
    the forrrjer Third district. Fifteenth
    ward, and was active in Democratic
    politics until four years ago. For
    a number of years he operated a
    service station in Buffalo avenue,
    retiring from business 25 years
    ago.
    He was a member of the Loyal
    Order of Moose, Independent Order
    of Odd Fellows, Woodmen of
    the World and Ninety-ninth Street
    Methodist church. He was an honorary
    member of the Niagara
    Frontier Volunteer Fire department.
    Mr. Behrens is survived by
    three sons. Howard. Clarence and
    Harry Behrens, a brother, Albert
    Behrens, and a sister, Mrs. Frank
    Hartzner, ail of this city; a second
    sister, Mrs. William Crow,
    Machias, and a third sister, Mrs.
    Augustus Meyers, Buffalo. Also
    surviving are. a granddaughter and
    two great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at
    2 p.m. Saturday at the Lane
    Funeral home, with the Rev. Fred
    Young officiating. Interment will
    be in Riverdale cemetery.

    his home, 2496 Willow Ave. early
    today, (Dec. 18, 1957), apparently
    of a heart attack.
    He was pronounced dead at 8:54
    a.m. by a physician after a Fire
    Department inhablator squad had
    been called. The inhalator was not
    used.
    Born Jan. 10. 1900 in this city,
    Mr. Behrens. had worked until
    recently at Carborundum Co.'s
    Buffalo Ave. plant where he was
    a kiln operator. He was a mem-
    ber of the 15-year Club there. He
    was a member of the Zion Evan-
    gelical Lutheran Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
    Adelaide Murphy Behrens' two
    daughters, Kathleen Behrens and
    Mrs. William Kernin, both this
    city; a son, Arnold F. Behrens,
    Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel

    NAPLES, FL — Arnold F. Behrens, "Arnie", 82, passed away on March 28, 2012 in Naples, FL. He was born on October 11, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY to Arnold W. and Adalaide Murphy.

    He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Arnie graduated from Niagara University with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He was Production Planning and Control Manager at The Carborundum Company in the Fibers Division. Arnie was a resident of Naples since1994, coming from Sanborn, NY.

    Arnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mae Walck; his four children, Philip of San Francisco, CA, Perry of Naples, FL, Marybeth Morea (Frank) of Long Island, NY, and Paula of Vacaville, CA; his two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas; and his two sisters, Corinne Kernin of Niagara Falls, NY and Kathleen Dube of Rochester, NY.

    A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Glades on Friday, April 6th at 11 AM.     A Niagara Falls paratrooper home
    on a weekend pass to visit his mother
    was found dead today in a gas-filled
    garage at the rear of the family
    home at 2710 Whitney avenue.
    He was identified as 2d Lt.
    Louis T. Davis, 22, of the 325th
    Paratroop Squadron, 82d Airborne
    division, at Ft. Bragg, N. C. He
    celebrated his birthday on Friday.
    He was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Herbert Vockroth.
    His body was found shortly before
    9 a. m. by his mother, whose screams
    attracted neighbors.
    Coroner James W. Heary said he
    was withholding a death certificate
    pending investigation into the officer's
    death.
    Firemen, who administered first aid
    for 45 minutes, reported that when
    they arrived on the scene the body
    was on the garage floor near the exhaust
    pipe of a car whose motor was
    running. The garage doors had been
    closed, they said.
    They also stated that the body was
    warm, indicating that it had been in
    the garage but a short time.
    Lt. Davis was rushed in an air
    force ambulance to Memorial hospital,
    where he was pronounced
    dead.
    According to information obtained
    by police at press time, Lt. Davis
    was seen last by an acquaintance
    shortly after 2 o'clock this morning.
    He dad been participating in
    winter maneuvers at Camp Drum
    near Watertown and had obtained
    a pass to visit here for the weekend,
    it was reported.
    Besides his parents, Lt. Davis is
    survived,by his,wife, the former Jo
    Anne Barber, who was at Ft, Bragg
    when tragedy-occurred.
    Friends of the family said that
    Lt. Davis received his commission at
    Niagara university last June. Before
    attending the university he had been
    stationed at a navy submarine school.
    Hospital attendants said that the
    body was to be sent to the Cobler
    Funeral home.
    Assisting Coroner Heary in his investigation
    are Lt. Felix Jendraszek
    and Patrolman Joseph Siuta.

    Raymond A. Behrens, 84, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Niagara Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 23, 1938 he was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Jane E. (Porter) Behrens. Raymond entered the United States Army on October 1, 1961. He was a parts supply specialist/mechanic with the 969th Engr Bn. He was honorably discharged as a SP4 on August 9, 1962.


    After serving his country, Raymond continued his career in the automotive industry, working for Cy's Stewarts Auto parts, Wrights Corners Auto parts and lastly at NAPA auto parts. When he wasn't working, he was a avid reader, classic car & train enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. Above all his number 1 concern was family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was very compassionate and kind. He also had a great sense of humor to top it all off.


    He is survived by his children, Shelly (Jack) Shipman and Robert R. Behrens; grandson, James (Lyndsay) Blasko, great-grandchildren, Patrick and Kory. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Anderluh) Behrens.


    Friends may call Monday, March 6th from 5-8PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where Military Honors will be held  at 7:00PM. Burial in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY will take place at the convenience of the family.

    Judith (nee Abbott) Jarvis passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ronald H. Jarvis, D.D.S.; her parents Maurice M. Abbott and Isabelle A. (nee McFall) Abbott. Judy was also predeceased by her older brother, Michael M. Abbott PhD (Mary). Surviving family includes two daughters, Jennifer J. Hamberger (Douglas) and Pamela J. Ortolani (Terrence); as well as four grandsons Maxwell D. Hamberger, Christopher H. Hamberger, Parker M. Ortolani and Carson A. Ortolani; a sister, Marilyn J. Wagshul (Alan) and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 27, 1941, Judy moved with her family to a farm in Youngstown in 1951 where she was an active member of the Niagara County 4-H Club winning the championship for making and modeling clothes for four years running. A gifted seamstress, she made beautiful clothes for herself, her family and her friends. Hand-smocking was a particular skill. She was a 1958 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School where she was a majorette. Judy won the Betty Crocker “Homemaker of Tomorrow” scholarship that same year. She attended Buffalo State Teacher’s College and Niagara University before graduating from Erie County Technical Institute with an Associates degree in dental hygiene in 1962. Following her graduation, she ran the dental health program for Massena Central Schools in upstate New York. During her husband’s service in the US Navy (1962-1965), Judy served as the assistant to Admiral Edward J. O’Donnell at Guantanamo Bay Cuba where they were stationed. Active in the local community, she volunteered at Children’s Hospital and polling sites during major elections. Judy also served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House in the 1980s. More recently she was active with the Lewiston Porter Class of 1958 Scholarship Fund. Flowers are gratefully declined.
