FUNERAL OF MRS. WITKOPF MONDAY
The funeral of Emma Witkopf, wlfe of Albert Witkopf, who died at the Memorial
hospital November 23rd, was held Monday at 1 o'clock from her home on
Allen avenue and later from the Evangelical German Lutheran church on South
avenue, Rev. J. Eberleln officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery. She
leaves her husband, a son aged 10 years and daughter, 9 months, her father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Holland, five brothers, Albert, Walter, Herman,
Jr., William and Elmer; three sisters, Mrs. G. Jackson, Mary and Rose Holland.
The death of the deceased is a sad affliction, following as it does the death
of an older brother on November 3. We must bow down to the Lord and
say, God's will be done, for those that sow with tears shall reap with joy. May
they rest in peace.

Ill two months, Albert A. Holland, 70, a retired carpenter, died yesterday at his home, 1058 Ninety-first street. Born In the Town of Cambria, September 22, 1876. Mr. Holland came to this cjty 45 years ago. He was employed as a carpenter oy the Hooker Electrochemical company for 27 years, retiring In 1939. Surviving are four sons, George Holland, of Denver, Col., Clarence, Harold and Edgar Holland and a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Roszel, all of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Rase Frey of Ransomville. Mrs. George Jackson and Mrs. Thomas Poorman, and two brothers, Herman Holland, of this city, and Elmer Holland of Buffalo. Eleven grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the home and a half hour later at the Zton Evangelical Lutheran church. Cayuga drive and Munson avenue. The Rev. George Hoyer, retired and former pastor of the church, and the Rev. TOWN OF NIAGARA —
Lillian L. (Holland) Roszel, longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was 92. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Albert and Amalie (Strassburg) Holland.
She attended local schools and then worked for many years as a nurses aide at several hospitals, retiring from Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Roszel was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a member of the Niagara Active Hose Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She dedicated much of her life to helping others including taking the time to help raise her daughter Gail's two children, Mark and Jimmy.
Mrs. Roszel is survived by two sons, Claire (Jeri) and Ronald (Grace) Roszel of Jacksonville, FL; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Roszel (1995); and her daughter, Gail Linnane (2004).
There will be no prior visitation and services will be held at a time to be announced.

Margaret Holland Fatally Injured When Car Runs Into Ditch
SEVEN OTHERS ARE HURT
Driver of Auto In Critical Condition in Falls Hospital
Margaret Holland, 17 years old, of LaSalle was killed when an automobile in which she was riding ran into the ditch and turned turtle twice in the Niagara Falls boulevard near the Packard road, last night. The Holland girl, died on her way to a Falls hospital. Seven persons were injured in the accident. They were William Peterin of Niagara Falls, driver of the machine; Alfred Giles of Niagara Falls, Leonore Hughes of the Falls, Beatrice Carr of LaSalle and Mary Jones of Niagara Falls. Peterin is in a critical condition at a Falls hospital, suffering from concussion of the brain. Aside from Peterin none of the occupants of the wrecked car was seriously injured. The Holland girl died from a broken neck. The accident occurred when Peterin lost control of the car, he attempted to bring it back onto the pavement, after one of the front wheels ran off the brick. Peterin was driving towards LaSalle from Niagara Falls at the time of the accident.

Word has been received here of the death Tuesday (Feb. 15, 1972) of a former Niagara Falls resident, Norman H. Holland. Mr. Holland, 62, died after a short illness in Hampton, Va. A native, of Niagara Falls, he lived in Chesapeake, Va., the last seven years. He was formerly an employee of the Union Carbide Corp. in Niagara Falls. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Isabel Zielinski of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Marian Becker of Chesapeake. Private funeral services will be held in Chesapeake.

LEWISTON - Isabel (Holland) Zielinski, 82, of Washington Drive, formerly of Laughlin Drive in Niagara Falls, died Saturday March 13, 1999) In Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 17th, 1916, in Niagara Falls, the daughter of Herman and Helen Holland. She attended local schools and wa a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She also graduated from the Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. Mrs. Zielinski was employed for 25 years at the former Niagara Junction Railway Co. on Buffalo Avenue. She retired as chief accountant. She was a memebr of the Niagara Womens Social Club. Mrs. Zielinski enjoyed playing bridge and reading. She was preceded by her husbands anthony J. Nonne who died in 1954, and Edward Zielinski, who died in November 1979. She is survived by daughter Eleanor D. Noone of Lewiston, two step-daughters, Mary Jane Obermuller of Youngtown, and Marion Becker of Chesapeake, Va. and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman Holland. There will be no prior visitation. The Rev. Gregory Hall will condust a graveside service at 2 pm Tuesday in St. Matthew's Evangellical Lutheran Cemetery, North Tonawanda. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside Presbyterian Church, 815 4th St, Niagara Falls, NY. 14304. Arrangements were made by the Lane Funeral Home.

on July 19, 2005, in her home. A native of Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Ella Holland. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Portsmouth for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Walter Henry Becker; a daughter, Sandra Lynn Becker of Chesapeake, VA; and a son, Wayne W. Becker and his wife Jeannie of Moorestown, NJ. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Becker of Detroit, MI, Aaron Becker in Vietnam, Tanya Barnett of Seattle, WA, Andrew Becker of New Brunswick, NJ, Anna Becker of Arlington,VA and Cheryl Marie of North Carolina; a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Becker of East Lansing, MI; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Marguerite Holland and Isabel Zielinski; and a brother, Norman Holland. Prior to 1964, when Walter left the Coast Guard, it was her gentle love and consistent caring that secured the family during its many moves. She had a profound sense of right and a deep love of her Lord and his church. Her love of animals and her sense of joy at birds and flowers reflected her sweet and gentle soul. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1901 Airline Blvd., Portsmouth,VA, 23701 with Rev. Thomas E. Becker officiating.
