  1. 1.  BLAIR, Eli was born on 19 Jul 1833 in Batavia, Genesee County, NY; died on 6 Jun 1912 in Byron, Genesee County, NY.

    Eli Blair, a well-known and respected
    farmer of the Byron road,
    died about 4 o'clock this morning,
    after a serious illness of about three
    weeks' duration from a complication
    of diseases, He had been in ill
    health, however, about two years
    and had suffered considerably from
    rheumatism.
    Mr. Blair was born on July 19,
    1833, In the town of Batavia, on the
    Batavia-Stafford townline road. He
    had lived a b o u t years on the farm
    where he died, which is six miles
    east of Batavia. He was a member
    of the Byron Grange. Besides his
    wife, he is survived by four sons,
    William, who lived with his father;
    Charles O., a. Batavia patrolman;
    John J. of Dawson City, Alaska, and
    Morgan L, Blalr ofBuffaho;a. daughter,
    Mrs. Pearl Warner of Batavia;
    two brothers, Charles L. Blair' of
    Batavia and Henry Blair of Albion;
    a sister, Mrs. Mary. Peatt of Batavia,
    and four grandchildren.
    The . funeral will be held at 2
    o'clock on Saturday afternoon from
    Mr. Blair's late home, the Rev. F. J.
    Kennedy of South Byron officiating.
    The Interment will be in the Elmwood
    cemetery.

    street, former janitor at City Hall and
    the County Building, died Mondav at
    the Villa of St. Jude.. ;
    Mr. Blair w!as born in the town of
    Batavia on May 14, 1865, and had resided
    in the city for a number Of
    years. His wife, the former Frances
    E. Bennett, died in 1929.
    Surviving are a son, Arthur of
    Clemington, N: J . ; a brother, Morgan
    Blair, Lyndonville; a step-granddaughter,
    Mrs. Henry Hanser, Le Roy,
    and several Other grandchildren

    Charles L. Blair, who was born in
    the town of Batavia and had always
    resided in Genesee county, died at his
    home at No. 35 Washington avenue,
    at 6 o'clock Sunday night. Mr. Blair
    was 82 years old and is survived by
    his and several nephews and
    nieces. He was a charter member of
    Byron lodge, I. O. O. F., and of the
    Byron grange. He was also a member
    of Batavia lodge, No. 475, F. & A.
    M., and on December 17, 1867, he was
    known as the oldest member in Genesee
    county. The funeral yvas hold
    from his late home on Wednesday afternoon
    at 3 o'clock and the burial
    took place in the Elmwood cemetery
    under the auspices of the Masonic
    order.
    A niece of Mr. Blair's, Mrs. Pearl
    Warner, died Sunday night at her home'in
    Buffalo, and her funeral was
    also held in Batavia on Wednesday
    afternoon.

    the principal of the high school at Spencer,
    Tioga county, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dur-
    ham of Rochester, went to Buffalo Wednes-
    day morning to attend the funeral service at
    the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Durham of
    653 Woodlawn avenue, of Mrs. Durham's
    mother, Mrs. Pearl Blair Warner, and ac-
    companied them in Batavia where services
    were conducted.

    Charles Otis Blair, a patrolman in
    the Batavia police department, died at
    9 o'clock on Sunday morning at his
    home, No. 24 Montclair avenue, from
    tubercular meningitis. Mr. Blair had
    been confined to his bed five weeks.
    Mr. Blair was born at Byron pn
    June 17. 1870, his parents being Mr.
    and Mrs. Ell Blair. On December 25,
    1894, he married Miss Olive A. Gardner
    at South Byron and had he lived
    another day he would have observed
    the 22d anniversary of his wedding.
    Twenty-two years ago also Mr. and
    Mrs. Blair moved to Batavia, and 12
    years ago under the first administration
    of Mayor Burkhart, as president
    of the village, he was sworn in as a
    police officer. Under former Mayor
    H. M. Johnson he was made a captain
    of police, the office being created at
    that time.
    Mr. Blair was also prominent in the
    Are department, where he served as
    second assistant chief under Chief William
    Locke. He was an honorary member
    of the Zephyrs until that company
    was disbanded with the passing of the
    volunteer department. He was a
    member of t h e Batavia Exempt Firemen's
    Association and the Modern
    Woodmen of''America. He was a
    warm-hearted and likeable man who
    had hosts of friends and his death will
    be sincerely mourned. Besides his
    wife he is survived by a son, Harold
    Gardner Blair; his mother, Mrs. Lucy
    A. Blair; a brother, William B. Blair,
    and a sister, Mrs. Pearl V. Warner,
    all pf Batavia, and two other brothers,
    John J. Blair of Alaska and Morgan
    L. Blair of Buffalo.
    The funeral will be held at 2:30
    o'clock tomorrow afternoon from his
    late home, the Rev. S. U. Mock officiating,
    and the body will be placed in
    the vault a t Elmwood cemetery.

    Averil Kick, W i l l i a m W a t s o n,
    William Lutey. Interment at Wright's
    Corners Cemetery later.
