    Rose Mary Filicetti Layo, 92, of Tampa, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. Rose Mary was born in Niagara Falls, New York on November 7, 1922. She is predeceased by her husband, Fred and is survived by her daughter, Janice Ann (Layo) Bartlett; her husband, Scott and granddaughter, Jade of Tampa, Florida. Rose Mary is also predeceased by her father and mother, Frank and Gilda (Battafarano) Filicetti; sister, Mary (Filicetti) D'Ambrosio, and brothers, Louis, Guido and Edward Filicetti of Niagara Falls, New York.

    Rose Mary graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree and a Master's in Education. For 23 years, she taught business subjects at Niagara Falls Senior High School. After retirement, her love for teaching found her as a substitute teacher at Vivian Gaither High School, Tampa, Florida.

    Rose Mary was a lector at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niagara Falls, New York for 23 years and at St. Paul Catholic Church, Tampa, Florida for 15 years. She was an officer in the Altar and Rosary Society of Mount Carmel Church and an officer in the Parent's Council of Niagara Catholic High School, Niagara Falls, New York.

    Rose Mary served as an officer of the Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators in Niagara Falls, New York and in Tampa, Florida. She was a member of the Niagara Falls Youth Board and a member of St. Paul Active Retired Persons. Rose Mary volunteered at Cecile Essrig Elementary School of Tampa, Florida for 6 years.

    Services were held on Thursday October 1st, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, St. Petersburg, FL.
