    The daughter of a Niagara
    Falls pioneer f a m i l y , Miss
    Emma A. Witmer, 86, of 1600
    Cleveland Ave., died Sunday
    (June 4, 1961) at home after a
    short illness.
    Miss Witmer was born in
    Niagara Falls, the daughter
    of John M. Witmer and Julia
    Baer. Her grandfather, Christian
    H. Witmer, operated a
    grist mill and was a miller.
    Witmer Road, in the towns
    of Niagara and Wheatfield,
    was named after the family.
    Miss Witmer was one of the
    oldest m e m b e r s of First
    Christian Church. She taught
    in its Sunday School 43 years
    and was a member of ts Empire
    Bible Class.
    Surviving is a sister, Mrs.
    Julia Hotchkiss, Hamburg.
    The service will be held at
    1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
    Gridley Funeral Home with
    Rev. James E. Farrell officiating.
    Burial will be in Riverdale
    Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral
    home -from 2 to 4 and 7
    to 9 p.m.
