    WEHLING - Loren A. December 1, 2013. Loren was born in Royalton Center, NY, son of Frederick and Anna Mietz Wehling. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Ann Marshall; children, Thomas (Susan), Loren Jr. (Cheryl), Ann (James) Winkowski, Susan (Robert) Gugino, Julie (Kenneth) Hallgren and Carl; cherished grandfather of Lynn, Kate, Erica, Loren, Steven, Aaron, Sarah, Caleb, Charles, Joseph, Christopher, Kelly, Grace and Matthew; eight great-grandchildren and his brother, Layton Wehling. He was predeceased by siblings, Lloyd, Joyce Bacon, Thelma Anderson, Elaine La Freniere, Fred Jr., Carl and Ethel Keirn. Loren joined the Merchant Marines when he was 16. He traveled the world. He served in the Korean War. He and Betty Ann were married February 6, 1951 when he was on leave. He worked for Prudential for 34 years. He enjoyed working at gardening, building or fixing. He was a role model for his children, all of whom have good work ethics. He enjoyed hunting, golf and traveling. A wonderful husband and father. Loren and Betty Ann moved to Naples in 1986 because he wanted to be someplace warm. He called Buffalo the Miami of the North. Loren was a member of F&AM Akron Lodge 527 and Scottish Rite, Araba Shrine Temple, Fort Myers. He was very active with the Noble Travelers Shrine Club. Memorials may be sent to Christus Victor Lutheran Church or Shriners Hospital for Children. Checks may be mailed to Araba Temple, 2010 Hanson Street, Ft. Myers, FL 33901. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday December 14, 2013 at 11 o'clock at St. Martins Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Published in the Buffalo News on Dec. 11, 2013
