    years ago.

    Mrs. Bickford was active ln . the
    W. C. T. U. and for many years was
    a Sunday school teacher ln the
    Presbyterian church. She Is survived
    by two daughters, Mrs. Lonson Stevens
    and Mrs. Mazle Upton, both of
    Wilson; one son. Olenn, of Erie, Pa.;
    13 grandchildren and two great-great
    grandchildren.
    Private funeral services will be held
    tomorrow, with the Rev. I. W. Jones,
    of the Wilson Baptist church, officiating.
    Interment will be ln North
    Ridge cemetery.

    Maisy Upton, wile of George Upton,
    of the Town Line road, died today
    at the home of her sister. Mrs.
    Louise Stevens, also of the Town
    Line road. Mrs. Upton was spending
    a vacation at her sister's home
    when she died suddenly. She had
    been In ill health for several weeks.
    Mrs. Upton is survived by her
    husband, George Upton; one
    daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Brandt, of
    Niagara Falls, and six sons, Maurice,
    of Youngstown, Cecil, of Niagara
    Falls, and Elwln, Lawrence.
    Clifford and Melvin, all of the Town
    line road.
    The funrral plans have not been
    completed.

    Bay St., died Saturday (Dec. 10, 1966) in Mount View
    Hospital, Lockport, where she had been a patient for
    six days.
    She was born Sept. 18, 1884,
    in Wilson, the daughter of
    William Edgar and Annette
    Brookins Bickford. She married
    Lonson Smith Stevens in
    1913. He died in 1932.
    Mrs. Stevens was a graduate
    of Wilson High School and
    the Wilson Training School
    and taught school for eight
    years in the Wilson area.
    She was a member of Exley
    Methodist Church and a life
    member of the Woman's
    Society of Christian Service.
    Survivors include a daughter,
    Miss Helen Stevens, Wilson;
    a son, Harold Stevens,
    Plymouth, Mich.; a brother,
    Glenn E. Bickford, Fairview,
    Pa.; three grandchildren and
    14 nieces and nephews.
    The family will be present
    from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
    at the Hamilton and Clark
    Funeral Chapel, where services
    will be, held at 2 p.m.
    Wednesday, Rev. Paul Huyett
    officiating. Burial will be in
    North Ridge Cemetery.

    Frank Wadsworth Bickford, 33 years
    old, one of Wilson's- most popular and
    best known young men, died at his
    home on the Town Line road Saturday
    with heart disease after an illness of
    only five days. He was an active mem-
    ber of the local Presbyterian church,
    being deacon, elder, trustee and treas-
    urer of that church at the time of his
    death. He was an active advocate of
    every good cause. He is survived by
    his wife, formerly Miss Evelyn Eliza-
    beth Carrigan, two sons, Franklin Ed-
    gar and Lee Wadsworth; his parents,
    Mr. and Mrs. W. Edgar Bickford; two
    sisters, Mrs. George H. Upton and Mrs.
    Lenson Stevens of Wilson and one
    brother, Glenn Bickford of Akron, Ohio.
    The funeral which was largely attend-
    ed, was held from the home Tuesday
    afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Peter Bur-
    rell of Syracuse, formerly pastor of the
    local Presbyterian church officiating.
    The burial was at North Ridge ceme-
    tery.

    ROCHESTER — East Rochester, NY - March 27, 2011, at the age of 95.

    Larry was a US Navy Veteran - World War II (Submariner in the Pacific Theatre) and during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and he was Past Master (1951) of the Lockport (NY) Lodge #73 F&AM. He was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of East Rochester, NY, where he lived with his family for 56 years.

    He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Pierce) Upton; daughters, Jane (Bud) Lawhun and Marla Wood (Mike Alban); grandson, James Upton Wood; great-grandson, Hadyn Michael Wood; many nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call from 10:00-11:30 AM on SATURDAY, April 9, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, 119 West Elm Street, East Rochester, NY 14445. A Memorial Service will follow in the Church Sanctuary (11:30 AM). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Larry's memory to the First Baptist Church.

    Lee Wadsworth Bickford, age 98, formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 10, 2016 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Born in Wilson, NY, on August 31, 1918, Lee was the son of the late Evelyn (Carrigan) and Frank Bickford and was a 1937 graduate of Wilson High School. On October 31, 1940, he married Lucille Jane Buck and they enjoyed 40 years together until her death in June, 1980. He was drafted in the Army during World War II and spent the majority of his time working at Muroc Army Air Base, where he worked at a secret testing facility near Muroc Dry Lake, working on the XP-59A, the first American jet aircraft. After working for Bell Aerospace and Cataract Ice, he became the sole proprietor of Bickford's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service in September 1950. He then worked for Edwards High Vacuum on Grand Island. As a handyman at heart, he was always tinkering and enjoyed remodeling his home. He is survived by three daughters, Nancy J. (Angel) Martinez of Niagara Falls, Patricia A. Bickford of Richmond, VA, and Kathy M. (Christopher) Cosgrove of New Milford, CT; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Lee W. (Susan) Bickford on April 5, 2016 and Gary P. Bickford on August 22, 2016; and a brother, Franklin Bickford. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, at 12:30 PM in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Flowers are gratefully declined.     George Herbert Brant
    November 26, 1932 - December 17, 2022

    George Herbert Brant, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully, at his home and surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 17, 2022.  He was 90.  George was born in Wilson, New York on November 26, 1932, a son of the late Burton and Elizabeth (Upton) Brant.  He served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant until his honorable discharge.   He worked for many years at Niagara Falls Community Missions from where he retired as the supervisor of maintenance in 1989.
    One of Mr. Brant’s proudest accomplishments in life was his ability to remain sober for 43 years of which his family could not be prouder.  He used this to help others along the way, sponsoring several others in their fights to sobriety.
    Mr. Brant was a Boy Scout Leader in 1950 for Troop #3 at the First Presbyterian Church.  He was the State Director of Campers and RVers and a part of the Ransomville Rural Relatives.  Mr. Brant was a Trustee Member of the 91st Street Church of the Nazarene until it closed in 2014, after which he joined Colonial Heights Free Methodist Church.  He enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, but his greatest joy was his time with his family and many friends.
    George was predeceased by his two sons Edwin rice, Jr. and John Brant.  He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Baney) Brant and 6 children:  Paul (Dottie) Brant, Linda (Craig) Mt. Pleasant, Tammy (Steve) martin, Tina (Tom) Herring, Ronald Brant and Brian (Sherry) Brant.  He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    As per Mr. Brant’s wishes there will be no visitation.  Memorial services will be held January 7, 2022 at 12 P.M. at Colonial Heights free Methodist Church, 1310 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, New York

    Donald Upton, formerly of Wilson, passed away September 27, 2015, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born January 26, 1963 to Melvin and Jean (Zastrow) Upton, who predeceased him. Don graduated from Wilson Central. He moved to Arizona 20 years ago, where he worked a a commercial electrician.

    Don is survived by his wife, Alyssa (Farace) Upton; his stepsons, Ryan and Anthony; and his beloved pets, Lucky and Bella. Also surviving are his siblings, Barbara (late David) Schendel, Bonnie (George) Smith, James (Yvonne) Upton and Randy (Tammy) Upton; his in-laws, Barbara (Terry) Kyte, John Farace and Joe Tinker, Gina (Glenn) Higa, Anjanette (David) Valenta, Myra Johsnon, Kyle (Jennifer) Farace, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Nancy J. Martinez, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Jane (Buck) Bickford; and the beloved wife of Angel Martinez who she married on April 28, 1971 at St. Albert the Great Church in Tonawanda, NY.
    Nancy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She was employed as a cashier for many years at the former Hills/Ames Department Store.
    Nancy was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. John de Lasalle Church where she volunteered daily. She also enjoyed volunteering at 66th Street School for many years, and was a former Cub Scout Leader.
    Nancy and her husband, Angel, loved to travel throughout the world including Hawaii, England, Ireland and Portugal. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
    In addition to her husband of 50 years, Nancy is survived by her two sons, David Martinez and Adam Martinez; her cherished granddaughter, Isabel “Izzy” Martinez; two sisters, Kathy (Chris) Cosgrove and Tricia Bickford, her beloved niece, Mikki Koralewski and beloved cousin, Danny Bickford; her brothers-in-law, Santos Martinez, Richard Martinez and Robert Martinez; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    Visitation will be on Thursday, October 7 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by Nancy’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John De LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
