    John F. Myrtle, Jr. age 72 of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on March 14, 2024 at the Buffalo V.A. Medical Center. Born in DuBois, PA on June 30, 1951; son of the late John and Kathryn (Bierley) Myrtle, Sr. John served in the United States Army from 1968-1971, during the Viet Nam War. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, cookouts, family gatherings and his pets, especially Rottweilers. John was known for telling jokes and making people laugh. Prior to living in Niagara Falls, he loved living in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Survivors include three sons, Bill Myrtle, John Myrtle III, and LeRoy Myrtle all of Niagara Falls, NY; three sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" Myrtle, Christine Booth, and Teresa Hescox; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Besides is parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan F. Myrtle.Friends are invited to join with his family for a celebration of life on Saturday (April 6) at 11:00 a.m. in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in the Town of Wheatfield, NY. The Rev. Michael Keicher, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buffalo V.A. Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215.

    Joan F. Myrtle, 70, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 14, 1950 she was the daughter of the late John and Kathryn "Kay" (Bierley) Myrtle. She is survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Myrtle, Teresa Hescox, Christine (Donald) Booth and John Myrtle Jr. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Ann Myrtle.A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held Tuesday, May 18th from 4-7PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch ave, Niagara Falls, NY. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
