CHEEKTOWAGA — Arline G. (nee Mayne) Whetham, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, Lewiston, NY and Grand Island, NY, passed from this life on Friday, July 12, 2013 in Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, NY, following a brief illness. Born on December 17, 1921 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude (Saunders) Mayne.

Mrs. Whetham attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1939. On June 30, 1943, Arline married William L. Whetham in Norfolk, VA. He predeceased her on October 28, 1999. She was employed by E.I. DuPont, as well as Dr. Perez, Sweeney & Green. Mrs. Whetham was a member of First Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, NY.

Mrs. Whetham is survived by one daughter, Cheryl A. (Amil) Slaiman of Grand Island, NY; one grandson, Justin W. Slaiman of Grand Island, NY, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Arline was predeceased by one brother, Frank Earl Mayne.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, July 15th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where a funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 PM. Interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to First Baptist Church, 554 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301; or to a charity of one's choice.
