Nunda NY News - 3/3/1950

Mrs. Etta Billings, 76, widow of
George Billings, died Feb. 18,
1950, at the Wyoming County
Community hospital, Warsaw, after
a short illness. Mrs. Billings
was born in Mt. MJprris and had
spent most of her life in Castile.
She is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Ida Morgan of Warsaw,
Mrs. Merrill Billings of Dalton,
Mrs. Pearl Kader of Wethersfield,
Mrs. Hazel Groswold of Hornell;
a son, Clifford Billings of Corfu;
a sister, Mrs. Mattie Scherman of
Northville, Mich.; 13 grandchil-
dren, five great-grandchildren,
and several nices and nephews.
Services were held from the
Harmon Funeral Home, Castile,
Feb. 21 with Rev. Donald Perkins
officiating. Burial was in Hope
cemetery, Castile.

Etta married BILLINGS, George about 1893. George (son of BILLINGS, Parson and Sarah) was born on 24 Apr 1870 in New York; died on 8 Mar 1947 in Castile, Wyoming County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Ida M. Morgan, 51 Oatka
St., Warsaw, a former resident
and well known hair dresser for
many years died Thursday Aug.
28, in St. Jerome's Hospital, Batavia,
after a long illness.
She was born in Castile in
Novi '22, 1893, a daughter' of
George and Etta Tolcs Billings.
In December, 1910, she married
Grover Morgan who died in 1950.
She is survived by one son and
two daughters, Mrs. Leo Simard
and Donald' Morgan, of Warsaw
Mrs. John Maniacc of Batavia;
six grandchildren; two great-
grand children; three sisters, Mrs.
Frank Kadcr of Wcthersficld
Springs, Mrs. Frank Billings of
Portageville and Mrs. Walter Grls
wold of Horncll; one brother, Cllf
ford Billings.of Clarence.
Services were held in the Weeks
Funeral Home in Warsaw. Satur
day at 2 p. m. The Rev. Herbert
G. Cory of LeRoy officiated. Bur
ial was in Warsaw.

Ida married MORGAN, Grover C on 20 Dec 1911 in Castile, Wyoming County, NY. Grover (son of MORGAN, John and DUMBLETON, Eliza) was born on 7 Oct 1888 in Town of Wethersfield, Wyoming County, NY; died on 19 Mar 1950 in Warsaw, Wyoming County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Castile NY Castilian - 4/28/1916

The death of Harry Niles Billings
occured Tuesday a t the home of his
parents,. after an ilmess of over six
months. He was .born May 10,1897,
and-.was .the eldest son of .Mr.: and^Mrs.
George Billings. He spent his short
life in this village.
Besides his parents, he leaves one
brother, Clifford, and. four sisters,
Mearl, Pearl, Hazel and Mrs.Ida Morgan.
Funeral services were held from the
late home at two o'clock, Thursday,
Revirp. W. Hemlnway officiating, assisted
by Rev. Allan MacQueen. Interment
in the Christian cemetery

Warsaw NY Wyoming County Times - 1898-1899

The infant child of George Billings and
wife of West Mill street, was found dead in
its crib by the mother Tuesday afternoon.
Coroner Broughton was called who granted
a certificate stating that death was due to
strangulations.

Pearl E. Kader, 78, of Plank
Road, Lockport, formerly of
Silver Springs, N.Y., died
Saturday evening to Medina
' Memorial Hospital following a
long Illness.
She was bom in Castile. N.Y.,
April 14, 1902, the daughter of
the late George and Etta
(Toales) Billings. She spent
most of her life to this area.
Mrs. Kader had been active to
the Warsaw Free Methodist
Church.
Her husband, Frank Kader,
died in 1969.
Surviving is one son, Harold
of Lockport; three grandchildren;
one brother, Clifford
Billings of Clarence, and One
sister, Hazel Howard of Hornell.
Funeral services will be held
tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Weeks
Funeral Home, 123 North Main
St, Warsaw.
