North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 10/26/1940

Mrs. Sophia Bingert, 78, -died
yesterday at her home, 38 Cleveland
avenue, after a lingering
illness. Born in Germany, she
had resided in Tonawanda the
past 70 years. She was a member
of the Salem Evangelical and
Reformed church. Surviving are
three sons, George, Frank and
Theodore of the Tonawandas; a
daughter, Mrs. Fred Drlscoll of
Tonawanda; two grandchildren;
two sifters, Mrs. Minnie Klinkowski
and Mrs, Charles Schultz of
North Tonawanda, and a brother,
John Hollzheusen of Westfleld.
Rites will be held Monday afternoon
at 2:30 o'clock at the late
residence. Rev. Walter F. Hartzel
will officiate. Burial will be in
White Chapel Memorial Park,

BINGERT - George W. Bingert,
69, of 15 Hill Place, Tonawanda,
died Monday (May 21,
1962) in Veterans Hospital, Buffalo,
after several months illness.
A native of Tonawanda, he was
a veteran of World War I and
was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Bingert was a member of
Grace Lutheran Church, the
Church Council and the Brotherhood
of the church; American Legion
Post 264; Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 3218; DAV Post
60 and the 78th Division Association
of Buffalo. Survivors include
his wife, Geneva Martin Bingert;
a sister, Mrs. Fred Driscoll, and
a brother. Frank Bingert, both of
Tonawanda, and several nieces
and nephews. He was the brother
of the late Theodore Bingert,
who died in 1952. Friends may
call at John O. Roth F u n e r a l
Home, Morgan and William
Streets, Tonawanda, where services
will be conducted by the Rev.
Howard Funk at 1.30 p.m. Thursday.
Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery.

Frank Bingert, 73, a World
War I Army veteran of 321
Utica St., died Saturday (Aug.
16, 1969) in De Graff
Memorial Hospital after a
short illness.
A lifelong resident of this
city, he was employed by the
Columbus McKinnon Cqrp. for
22 years, retiring four years
ago.
He was a member of the
Amerian Legion, Tonawanda
Post 264, Tonawanda Lodge
247, F & AM; Niagara River
Lodge 527, IOOF, end the
Golden Age Club.
His wife, the former Mayne
Wiedmann, died in 1965.
He is survived by a sister,
Mrs. Fred (Mary) Driscoll of
Tonawanda; a niece, Mrs.
Carl (Betty) Clemen, Town
of Tonawanda; and a nephew,
James P. Bingert, of Kenmore.

Funeral services will be
held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at
the Roth Funeral Home, with
the Rev. Karl H. A. Rest,
officiating. Burial will be in
White Chapel Memorial Park,

Theodore Bingert, 53, an em-
ploye of The Rudolph Wurlitzer
Company for 30 years, died yes-
terday in Buffalo General Hospital.
An assembler in the plant, Mr.
Bingert lived in 407 Falls Blvd.
A member of the Rescue Hose
Company, Mr. Bingert waa affili-
ated with the North Tonawanda
Firemen's Benevolvent Association
and was a member of St. Martin's
Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel,
nee English; one son, James P.
Bingert; two brothers, George and
Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Fred
Driscoll, all of the Tonawandas.
Services will be Wednesday at
2:30 p.m. in the Hamp Funeral
Home, 37 Adam St. The Rev. Theo
Berner will officiate. Burial will
be in Resthaven Cemetery.
