    James F. Faery of Wilson passed peacefully on Saturday December 14, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones, Jim spent his entire life in Wilson, New York and was the son of Fred and Grace Magorien  Faery.
    Jim was employed by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department from 1959 – 1985 rising through the ranks of Deputy Sheriff retiring as Undersheriff.  In 1985 Jim replaced Russ Parker in the Niagara County Legislature representing the now 10th district until 1987.  Also, in 1985 he worked for NYSEG at the Somerset Project retiring in 1995.  Jim always had a honest desire to do the right thing with a great deal of integrity.  He attended Immaculate Conception Church his entire life, serving as an altar server, usher, member of the Holy Name Society and also as a Eucharistic Minister.  Jim was a volunteer fireman with the South Wilson Volunteer Fire Company for sixty plus years, he also was a member of the Welch Grape Co-op.  Jim enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid hunter, and a good friend to many.
    Jim is survived by his beloved wife Edith they cherished 69 years of marriage, and a sister Therese Melcher of Lewiston, NY; and his sister in laws Shirley Hartmann Haverhill, MA, Wilma Hurtgam of Barker, NY, Joyce Bayles of Lockport, NY and his brother in law Steven (Sue) Bayles of Palm City, FL.  Also survived by his four children Linda (late Richard) Reynolds of Oswego, NY, Fran (Nancy) Faery of East Amherst, NY, Cynthia Grace (Raymond) Spoth of Newfane, NY and Louis James Faery of Wilson, NY; 9 grandchildren Raymond James Spoth, Lexi Lindberg,  Maria Frances Reynolds (Gregg), Ryan Matthew Spoth (Kaitlyn), Adam Richard (Jessica) Piedmont. Steven Victor Reynolds, Nathan Andrew Spoth (Rebekka), Maxwell James Faery and Morgan Grace Faery; and also 9 Great Grandchildren.  James is predeceased by his brother George (Lorraine) Faery, his sisters Marie (Gordon) Goodman, Ellen (Fred aka Bud) Diez.
    Family and friends may call on THURSDAY December 19, 2019 from 3 – 8 p.m. at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME INC. 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY 14131. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on FRIDAY, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY  14131 with the Rev.     RANSOMVILLE -
    Marie L. Goodman, age 93, of Ransomville, previously of Sanborn, died peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014 surrounded by her children while under the care of Hospice of the Valley, in Mesa, AZ, where she resides six months every year. Marie was born on December 2, 1920 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late Fred and Grace (Magorien) Faery and was a graduate of Wilson High School and Doyles School of Beauty.
    She was a Beautician for 68 years, starting when she was 11 years old. Marie owned and operated Marie Hair Fashion, in Sanborn from 1963 to her retirement in 2000. She had also worked as a clerk in the Emergency Dept. at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for a number of years. On November 2, 1941, she married Gordon Goodman and she assisted him with the operation of his farm as well. Gordon predeceased her in 1979, leaving her to raise her five children.
    Marie was a communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Ransomville, and a member of the Newfane and Sanborn Senior Citizens. She loved to travel, the country of Austria, Arizona sunshine, and Lake Ontario sunsets and breezes. Marie was a beautiful lady both on the inside and out. Kids loved her, student athletes from Starpoint and Immaculate Heart School in Tucson, AZ. She loved her family, friends, flowers (especially roses) and her rosary.
    Our beautiful strong mother will be missed by her children, Robert (Sharon) Goodman and Gregory Goodman both of Tucson, AZ, Kathryn M. (Adrian) Frerichs of Wilson, Richard (Annie) Goodman of Pekin, and Sherry (fiance' Doug Wainwright) Goodman of Mesa, AZ. She leaves thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters; a brother, James (Edith) Faery of Wilson; a sister, Therese Melcher of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Ellen Diez; a brother, George Faery; and a granddaughter, Deborah Frerichs.
    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.     LEWISTON — George T. Faery, age 91, of Ransomville, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, after a long illness.

    George was born March 8, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Fred and Grace (Magorian) Faery and was a lifelong resident of the Town of Cambria. He was the owner and operator of Faery Greenhouses in Ransomville for many years until his retirement. George married Lorraine E. (Grauer) Faery on October 31, 1942. Lorraine predeceased him on August 18, 2003.

    George was a communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. He was a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau, the National Grape Co-op, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. George loved going elk hunting out west. He enjoyed woodworking and socializing, but most of all enjoyed being with his family.

    He is survived by his sons, Thomas A. (Barbara) Faery, Jack E. (Deborah) Faery, Douglas G. (Diane) Faery, all of Ransomville, and Fred J. (Sharon) Faery of Wilson; his daughters, Muriel G. (Larry) Brawn of Anderson, SC and Shirley M. (David) Benton of Wilson; his siblings, Marie Goodman and Jim (Edith) Faery, both of Wilson, and Theresa Melcher of Lewiston; a daughter-in-law, Ann Faery; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, William P. Faery and a sister, Ellen Diez.

    Therese A. “Tess” Melcher, age 87, of Lewiston and formerly of Pekin died Friday, December 25, 2020 at Our Lady Of Peace NCR in Lewiston, NY. Therese was born June 27, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Fred and the late Grace (Magorien) Faery. Tess was a graduate of Wilson High School class of 1950, she also graduated from Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing and SUNY Buffalo obtaining her B.S.She was the former Director of Nursing at the Former Fairchild Manor N.H also the former Director of Nursing at St. Mary's Manor in Niagara Falls. She was the first to open the first Coronary care Unit at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in early 1960's and lastly Tess was a Risk Management consultant for Mt. St. Mary’s Nursing Home from 1994- 2008.Surviving are her children; Michael Melcher of Sheffield, PA, John Melcher of Bemus Point, Martin (Jenny) Melcher of Niagara Falls and Jane Moltzan of Port Charlotte, NC; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Edith Faery.Tess is predeceased by her siblings Ellen Dietz, George Faery, Marie Goodman and James Faery.NO PRIOR VISITATION.     CHANDLER, AZ — William P. Faery, of Chandler, AZ, passed away December 14, 2010 at his home, after a long illness. Bill was born on October 28, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY and lived most of his life in Wilson, NY. He moved to Chandler, AZ in 1997. He was a Niagara County Sheriff Deputy for 10 years, and was a driver for various trucking companies across the country before becoming disabled in 2000.

    He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anne; three children, William G. (Krissy) Faery, Margaret (John) Mahar and Benjamin (Roberta) Faery, all of Wilson; and his father, George Faery of Ransomville, NY. Also surviving are sisters, Muriel (Larry) Brawn, Shirley (David) Benton; and brothers, Thomas (Barb), Jack (Debbie), Douglas (Diane) and Fred (Sharon); four grandsons, Mitchell, Benjamin, Evan and Jack Mahar; one granddaughter, Andrea Faery; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine.

    Cremation will take place in Chandler, AZ. Visitation is planned for 3-7 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home on Main Street in Wilson, NY. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in BillÕs memory to the Wilson Fire Company or to a favorite charity.
