NIAGARA FALLS — John G. Guzdek, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013. Born on November 20, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late John V. and Josephine (Monko) Guzdek and attended local schools. On January 27, 1966, he entered the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60 and Sharpshooter Medal, and was honorably discharged on January 27, 1972. John was a former member of St. Charles Church, the UAW #774 and the American Legion Portage Post 1465. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grandchildren, playing cards and darts and was an avid Sabres and Bills fan.
He is survived by his children, John M. Guzdek of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael (Lindsey) Guzdek of Buffalo, NY, Sandra Guzdek of Eugene, OR, and Lori (Dominick) Terrana III of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Holly, Dominick, Samuel, Michael, Isabella and Jackson; his brother, James (fiance Dawn) Guzdek; his sisters, Joan (Andy) Donaghy, Theresa (Stefan) Kielbasa, Marie (Howard) O'Rourke, Susan (Ron) Burt and Karen (Mark) Santangelo; also many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol Ann (Fabiano) Guzdek and brother, Walter Guzdek.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 16th from 5-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319- 24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Sts., with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial with military honors following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Donations in his memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094; Roswell Park, P.O. John M. Guzdek, 43, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 15, 1976 he was the son of the late John G. and Carol Ann (Fabiano) Guzdek. John worked for many years in the Kitchen at the Red Coach Inn. He is survived by his siblings, Lori A. (Dominick) Terrana Sandra (Andra Barrow) Guzdek, and Michael V. (Lindsey) Guzdek. He is also survived several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.There is NO PRIOR visitation. Funeral services & burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
