    RANS0MVILLE - Lawrence R. Leggett, 71, of 4018 Dickersonville Road, died Sunday (July 20, 1975) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after an illness of several months. Born here, be was the son of William and Lula Leggett. He operated a farm at his home. He was a former member of the Ransomville Exempt Firemen and of the Dickersonville Methodist Church. He was a member and served on the committee of the Niagara Cooperative Extension Service and was a former member of the North Ridge Baseball Team. Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Pheffer) Leggett of this hamlet; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (June) Moshano of Ontario, N.Y.; two sons, Robert and William Leggett both of here; a brother Durwood Leggett of here and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Hardison Funeral Home here with the Rev. Ronald Logan of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Contributions to the Niagara County Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the Dickersonville Methodist Church or the Ransomville Free Methodist Church will be acceptable as tribute the family said.

Leggett, 51, of 2500 Parker Road, a lifelong area resident, died today (Dec. 14, 1977) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.An operator at the Niagara Stone Co. in Niagara Falls for 30 years, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Dickersonville Methodist Church, a former past president of the of the Ransomville Fire Co., a member of the Exempt Company, the board of fire commissioners of the Ransomville District, American Legion O. Leo Curtis's Post 830, and the Ransomville Conservation Club.He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Peters Leggett; his mother, Mrs. Lawrence (Pearl) Leggett of Ransomville; three sons, Robert C., Steven R., and Michael J., all at home; a sister, Mrs. Anthony (June) Moshamo of Ontario, N. Y.; a brother, William Leggett of Ransomville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hardison Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur Northrup of the Dickersonville Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the North Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Contributions may be made to the Dr. William T. Wallens Cancer Clinic, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, the family said.

    NORTH PORT, FL - June Moshano, daughter of Lawrence and Pearl Leggett, formerly of Ransomville, NY, died peacefully at her winter home in North Port, FL, at the age of 85.

    She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Anthony (Hank) Moshano; son, Paul and wife, Marianne Moshano from Sodus, NY, and daughter, Mary Amos and her husband, Norm of North Port, FL. June was preceded in death by her older brother, Robert Leggett and wife, Betty Lou of Ransomville, NY. She is survived by her younger brother, William (Hoppie) Leggett and wife, Deanna, also of Ransomville, NY. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    June was a graduate of Wilson Central School, NY, and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Brockport, NY in 1949. She retired from teaching in 1980 from the Wayne Central School District in Ontario, NY.

    A celebration of life will be planned for her Florida winter home in the fall of 2014. Her ashes will be interred at her summer home in Star Lake, NY, with a pending service in Ransomville, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Care in memory of June Moshano.

    You were an amazing wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother. Whether she was tap dancing as a child, or jitter bugging with Hank, she will always have a song in her heart. May your music never end.

    William J. "Hoppy" Leggett

    RANSOMVILLE -
    William J. "Hoppy" Leggett, age 82 of Ransomville, died on Monday, June 16, 2014 in the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a long illness. Hoppy was born on November 2, 1931 on his family's farm in the Town of Lewiston, the son of the late Lawrence and Pearl (Pfeffer) Leggett.
    He graduated from Wilson High School in 1951 and joined the U.S. Navy Reserves. In 1952 he was called to active duty and served until his honorable discharge in 1954. He was the recipient of the National Defense, the United Nations and the Korean Service (2 Stars) Medals. Hoppy married Deanna L. (Schultz) Leggett on August 10, 1957. He retired from the Niagara County Water Department after 20 years of service. Previous to that Hoppy at worked at various area farms and he had worked as a deliveryman for the former White House Dairy in Lewiston for 20 years.
    Hoppy was a 60-year member of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company. He was a past President, Treasurer, and an Exempt Member. An avid fisherman, he spent 57 years fishing at Mud Creek in the 1000 Islands and was a member of the Niagara River Anglers Association.
    In addition to his wife, Deanna, he is survived by a daughter, Sherrie Leggett; and a son, William (Jackie) Leggett both of Ransomville; a grandson, Adam (Marlise) Leggett; a granddaughter, Andrea Leggett; a brother-in-law, Hank Moshano of Star Lake, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Betty Lou) Leggett; and a sister, June Moshano.
    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 3-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. William Lowery of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ransomville Vol. Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, PO Box 239, Ransomville, NY 14131 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
