North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 1/29/1914

Two hours after she returned from
a dance yesterday morning, sixteen
year-old Sarah Muchow was found
dead in bed by her mother at their
home in Clarence Center. Suffocation
brught on by an epileptic fit is be-
lieved to have caused death.
Miss Muchow was subject to fits.
She attended a dance at a neighbor-ing farmhouse the night before and
returned home at 5 o'clock. At 6
o'clock Mrs. Muchow called the girl's
sister and in passing Sarah's room
saw she was sleeping soundly.
An hour later Mrs. Muchow went
up to the room to find her daughter
face downward on the pillow. The
girl was dead. It is believed she was
seized with a fit brought on by the
excitement of the dance. While in
this condition she probably buried her
head in the pillow.
Medical Examiner Cook issued cer-
tificate of death by suffocation. The
body was turned over to the parents,
who are well known in the commun-
ity.
