    Frank V. Deuro, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY.  Born on April 18, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Bongiovanni) Deiuro.
    Frank was raised in Niagara Falls, attending local schools.  He proudly served in the US Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign, from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946.  On November 10, 1951, he married Lottie E. (Wojtowicz) Deuro at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Mrs. Deuro predeceased him on June 6, 1996. 
    In 1964, he graduated with an Ophthalmic Dispenser Degree from Niagara County Community College.  Frank was employed as a Foreman at Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY for 40 years.  He was the Past Commander of the Portage Post #1465, a member of the 40 & 8 La Societe 388, Buff Social Club, Carborundum Retirement Club, and was Past President of the Carborundum Management Club.  In addition, he was a longtime officer of the Elks BPOE Lodge #346, serving as Tiler for many years and was awarded Elk of the Year in 1996. 
    Frank was very active in the community, volunteering in many civic organizations.  In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, working with tools, reading, and exercising.  One of the highlights of his life was traveling to Washington, DC with his son and fellow World War II Veterans on Honor Flight to see all of the memorial sites.  Above all Frank cherished his time with his family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
    Frank is survived by his children, Deborah (Charles) Deuro-Naughton and James F. (late Gail) Deuro; his grandchildren, Michael (Terri) Gormley, Michelle (Tony) Enrico, Christopher Gormley, Erin Naughton, Joshua Naughton, and Courtney Deuro; great-grandchildren, Michael & Elizabeth, Bill & Angela, and Nick and Alec; his brother, John (late Jere) Deuro, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many dear friends and neighbors.  In addition to his wife of 44 years, he was predeceased by his daughter, Dorothy (Jerry) Gormley, as well as his siblings, Leonard (late Mary) Deuro, Carrie (late Ray) Szalach, and Marie Bailey.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. The Elks will be conducting a prayer service at 7 PM in honor of Frank.  Funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:30 AM at the Funeral Chapel, followed by Frank’s Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.  Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Falls Firefighters Christmas Toy Fund, P.O.     John M. Deuro, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Bongiovanni) Deuro.
    John was raised in Niagara Falls, attending local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School.  He proudly served in the US Army, from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954 at the rank of Sgt.  During that time, he was a radio operator and a mine sweeper while serving in Korea with the 25th Div. On June 30, 1956, he married Geraldine “Jere” A. (DeMunda) Deuro at St. Joseph’s Church.  Mrs. Deuro predeceased him on August 16, 2019 after 63 years of marriage. 
    John worked in construction and was Vice President of Booth-DeMunda Lumber Company for over 20yrs. He was also employed at Carborundum Abrasives and retired from Oxy Chemical in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a member of the Elks BPOE Lodge #346, Moose Lodge, V.F.W and was on the first Board of Trustees for the Fatima Shrine in Youngstown, NY.  He was a founding member of the 24th Street Ravens football club. John enjoyed traveling to Florida with his wife during the winter months to his son’s house, and in his spare time, playing cards, bowling and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, and his love for animals especially his dog Macy.
    Mr. Deuro is survived by his sons, Jan (Claudia) Deuro, Jon Deuro, and Jason (Dawn) Deuro; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Randi) Deuro, Justin (Christine) Deuro, and Christopher (Jenn) Deuro; and his first great-granddaughter Lillian Eve Deuro as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard (late Mary) Deuro, Frank (late Lottie) Deuro, and Sisters Carrie (late Ray) Szalach, and Marie Bailey.
    The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff at Our Lady of Peace for the extraordinary care given to john.
    There was no prior visitation. John’s funeral services and entombment with Military Honors were held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, 500 Riverdale Avenue, Lewiston, NY 14092 which the immediate family attended.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements by M.J.     Carrie (Deuro) Szalach 85, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Schoellkopf Nursing Care Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 28, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Bongiovanni) Szalach and attended local schools. Carrie was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Our lady of the Rosary Women’s Guild and the senior citizen group, the Red Cross and RSVP. She was employed by the board of education for 23 years retiring as a 2nd. cook from Gaskill Middle School in 1991.

    She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Larry) Zornes, Diane (John) Krecisz and Carol Szalach all of Niagara Falls; grandchildren Richard J. (Aliscia) Krecisz, Adam (Melodie) Krecisz, Kristina, Jessica and Jared Zornes; great- grandchildren Isabella, Sofia, Hayley and Violet; her brothers Frank(late Lottie) Deuro and John (Jane) Deuro. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Roman "Ray" Szalach, grand-daughter Jill Margaret and sister Marie.

    Friends may call Thursday from 1-4 PM and 6-9PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC. 319 24th. St. cor. of Welch Ave. Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM on Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 27th. and Independence Ave. with Rev.     NIAGARA FALLS - Marie A. (Deuro) Bailey, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Schoellkopf Health Center, Niagara Falls, NY. She was born August 3, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, and was the daughter of the late Margaret (Bongiovanni) and Frank Deuro. Marie attended Niagara Street School, Gaskill Junior High School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1951.

    Marie worked as a Telephone Operator for the Carborundum Corporation (also played baseball and bowled for them), and as a Bus Aide for the B.O.E. for about 15 years. She then worked as a Cook for Niagara Geriatrics for about 16 years, until her retirement in 1995. She belonged to the Golden Age Club, did volunteer work for HANCI and was a member of the R.S.V.P. Swat Team. She also belonged to Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of Lebanon Seniors. Marie loved going on trips, to casinos, bingo, reading mystery books and spending time with her family.

    She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kim Marie (Mark) McKibbin and beloved son, Robert A. Bailey, Jr., both of Niagara Falls, NY; beloved grandchildren, Stephen (Jackie Bradley) McKibbin and Daryl (Rachel) Bailey; step-grandchildren, Rebecca McKibbin and Matthew (Carolene) McKibbin; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Stephen James, Aiden McKibbin and Ayana Bailey; sister, Carrie A. (late Roman) Szalach; brothers, Frank (late Lottie) and John (Jeri) Deuro, all of Niagara Falls, NY. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great- nieces and nephews; cousins, aunts and uncles.

    No Prior Visitation. A memorial Mass will take place Wednesday, July 9, at 12:30 PM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish (Mt. Carmel site), 2486 Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14301, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Burial in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's memory may be made to Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc., 1570 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.     Kathleen M. (Szalach) Zornes  of Niagara Falls, NY,  passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019, at her home.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on May 16, 1951, the daughter of the late Roman "Ray" and Carrie "Honey" [Deuro] Szalach. 
    Mrs. Zornes graduated from Niagara Falls High School and the Kelly Business School.   She was a bus monitor with the Niagara Wheatfield School District for over 22 years before retiring.
    Mrs. Zornes was a Girl Scout Leader and had coached soccer.    She enjoyed doing crafts, going to BINGO and taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens.
    She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Larry E. Zornes, one son Jared M. Zornes, two daughters Kristina M. (Joseph) Tate and Jessica L. Zornes, two sisters Diane (John) Krecisz and Carol Szalach, also several nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Zornes was the mother of the late Jill Margaret.
    Her family will be present on Thursday from 4-6 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, with Funeral Services to follow at 6:00 PM.
    Flower are gratefully declined.    Memorials may be made in her name to Connect Life (formerly UNYTS) or the American Cancer Society.

    Jessica L. Zornes
    Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, peacefully at her residence. She was born in  Niagara Falls, NY,  on November 28, 1980, a daughter of the late Larry E. and Kathleen M. [Szalach] Zornes.
    Jessica was a graduate of Trocaire college and practiced as a phlebotomist for many years, before switching and ending her final working years as a resident assistant with People, Inc. 
    She was the sister of Jared M. Zornes and Kristina M. (Joseph) Tate. She is also survived by many loving aunts and cousins. 
    Her family will hold a celebration of Jessica's life at a later date.
    In lieu of flowers,  donations can be made to ConnectLife, 4444 Bryant And Stratton Way, Williamsville,  NY 14221.
