    Dansville, Aug. 1-Roy Bossard,
    41, Arkport farmer, died today of a
    fractured skull in Dansville General
    Hospital.
    While driving his car he missed a
    bridge on Hornell Road, vaulting
    a small creek six feet, one bank to
    the other. His companion. Herman
    Waters, 40, Canisteo, is in General
    Hospital with a dislocated right hip.
    They were enroute to a Livingston
    County volunteer firemens convention
    celebration here.

    Dansville.-Roy Bossard, 41. a
    resident of Oak Hill, near Arkport,
    died in Dansville General Hospital
    Monday morning of injuries received
    in an automobile accident on
    South street last Friday night.
    Bossard was riding in a car driven
    by Herman Warters 39, of Canlsteo,
    who was proceeding toward Dansville.
    and failed to make the curve
    south of the Mill creek bridge, on
    account of being blinded by the
    lights of an approaching car, crashed
    through the guard rail* turned
    over twice and landed in the creek.
    Both men were removed to the
    Dansville General Hospital where
    Bossard was found to be in a critical
    condition, and Warters suffering
    from a dislocated hip.
    Owing to the crowd of 10,000 persons
    in the village, who were witnessing
    the parade of the Livingston
    County Firemen's Association,
    it was difficult for the ambulance
    to reach the scene of the accident,
    and it was necessary to halt the
    parade and clear the streets of spectators
    in order to make the trip .
    Funeral services were held at 2:30
    o'clock Wednesday afternoon from
    the home of Mr. and Mrs. William
    Bossard, in the town of Howard.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs.
    Florence Jaynes Bossard four children,
    Mrs. F!oyd Kane, of Arkport,
    Mildred Merle and Glenn, at home;
    his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William
    Bossard, of the town of Howard;
    three sisters Mrs. William Horton,
    Of Hornell, Mrs. Frank Smith and
    Mrs. Lloyd Palmer, of the town of
    Howard; three brothers, Claude, of
    the town of Howard, Fred, of the
    town of Hornellsville, and Lawrence,
    of Hornell.

    Roy married JAYNES, Florence about 1915. Florence was born on 8 Jun 1896 in New York; died in Dec 1978 in Hornell, Steuben County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
