    William F. Bower, 72, formerely
    of Lockport, died Sunday
    at the Clark Senior Home, Town
    of Hartland.
    He was born June 7, 1898,
    in Lockport, the son of Fred
    and Minna Rensank Bower and
    lived in Lockport all his life.
    He had been a resident at the
    Clark Senior Home for three
    years.
    For 17 years, he
    ployed by Simonds
    Steel Division of
    Murray Corp., retiring in 1964.
    While employed there, he was
    a member of the United
    Steelworkers of America.
    Surviving are: a sister, Mrs.
    Katie Peterson, of Westbourne,
    Man., Canada; several nieces
    and nephews.
    Friends may call at their
    convenience at the Lange
    Funeral Home, 186 East Ave.,
    where a funeral service will be
    held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Rev.
    James F. Burdick, pastor of
    Rapids Christian Chapel, will
    officiate. The family will be
    present from 2-4 p.m. and from
    7-9 p.m., with burial following
    in Huskey Cemetery.

    A lifetime resident of the
    Town of Royal ton, Lester H.
    Bower, 57, of 6691 Moyer Road,
    died this morning (May 4,
    1965) at Lockport Memorial Hospital
    after a short illness.
    Born Feb. 6, 1908 in the Town
    of Royalton, he was the son of
    Frederick and Mina Rensink
    Bower. He and the former Helen
    Maass were married 35 years
    ago.
    Mr. Bower had been employed
    for the past 24 years as a
    welder at the National Gypsum
    Co., Clarence Center. He was
    a member of the Akron Masonic
    Lodge and of Evangelical
    United Brethren Church at the
    Rapids.
    Besides his widow, he leaves
    a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Sweryda
    of Webster; four sons, Leonard
    L- and Roger A., both of
    Lockport, Milton A., at home,
    Lester A. Jr. of the U.S. Army
    and seven grandchildren.
    Also surviving are two brothers,
    William and Frederick, both
    of Lockport, and two sisters,
    Mrs. Charles Peterson and Mrs.
    Florence Rask of Canada.
    Friends may call at their convenience
    at the residence on
    Moyer Road, where funeral services
    wilt be held at 2 p.m. Friday
    and at 2:30 at the Evangelical
    United Brethren Church at
    the Rapids. The Rev. James
    Burdick will officiate.
    Burial will be in Dysinger
    Cemetery.

    Frederick J. Bower, 55, of 94
    Bridlewood Drive, Lockport,
    died Friday. (Dec. 20, 1968) at
    the Veterans Administration
    Hospital, Buffalo, after a long
    illness.
    Mr. Bower was born July 7,
    1913, in Lockport, the son of
    Fred and Mina Resnick Bower.
    He served with the U. S.
    Army in World War II in the
    European Theater and was
    awarded the Purple Heart during
    the Battle of the Bulge.
    He was chief equipment operator
    for the City of Lockport
    Street Department for 22 years,
    and had been on a leave of absence
    since August
    Mr. Bower was active in
    Lockort Little League, serving
    as vice president of die
    league at one time and also as
    a team manager.
    He was a member of the
    Holy Name Society and Sacred
    Heart League of St. Mary's
    Church, Lockport; the Lockport
    Council, Knights of Colum
    bus; B. Leo Dolan Post 410,
    American Legion and the
    Screwball Club.
    Survivors include his widow,
    Rosemary 0. (nee Blackley);
    four sons, Stephen, James,
    Neal and Daniel Bower at
    home; one brother and one sister,
    William Bower of Lockport
    and Mrs. Catherine Peterson
    of Winnipeg, Man., and several
    nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call beginning
    this evening at 7 p.m. at the
    Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East
    Ave., Lockport, where the funeral
    will be held Monday at 9
    a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. from St.
    Mary's Church, the Rev. Albert
    G. Winter officiating.
    The B. Leo Dolan Post 410,
    American Legion will assemble
    Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and the Rosary
    will be recited at 8 p.m.

    LOCKPORT - Frederick J.
    Bower, 55, of 94 Bridlewood
    Drive here, died Friday (Dec.
    20. 1968) at Veterans Administration

    A noted area sportsman and
    church worker, he had been
    employed for many years as
    chief equipment operator for
    the city's Streets Department.
    He had been on leave of absence

    Mr. Bower was a veteran of

    for a memorial .service

    will be recited at the funeral

    services will be held there at
    9.a.m. Monday, followed by a
    Requiem Mass at 9:30 a.m. at

    George H. Brimmer, 76, of Conneaut and formerly of Daytona Beach, FL and Lockport, NY, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. He was born September 10, 1941, in Lockport, NY, and was the son of David and Florence (Whitmore) Brimmer.
    Following graduation from the Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY, he worked for several funeral homes in the western New York area, before relocating to Daytona Beach. He was employed at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home in Daytona Beach, FL, for several years and joined the staff at Dudley Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, FL, from which he recently retired. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed Jazz music.
    Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Arter) Bernard Brimmer of Conneaut; two daughters, Mary Beth Greene (Rich Berkowitz) of Conneaut, and Molly (Carl) Kettler of Evanston, IL; his brother, Frederick Brimmer of Lockport, NY; three grandchildren, Alicia Kettler, Theresa Kettler and Garrett Greene; and his sister-in-law, Joan Arter (Kent) Crea of Lockport, NY.
    At Mr. Brimmer's wishes, no services will be observed. Cards and condolences may be sent to Barbara at 383 Rowe St., Conneaut, OH 44030.

    Frederick J. Brimmer passed away April 12, 2023 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  Born January 8, 1947 in Lockport he was the son of David L. and Florence M. (Whitmore) Brimmer.  Frederick worked at Harrison Radiator Div of GM where he was a Engineer Technician.  He was an active member of the Medina Senior Center, was an avid card player, enjoyed baking, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.  Frederick was predeceased by his wife Catherine (Vecchione) Brimmer on July 23, 2015.
    Frederick is survived by his children, Felicia (Robert) Snyder, Vincent (Suzanne) Dell’Oso, Stephanie (Eric) Kline and Michelle (Lori Davis) Brimmer; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his brother George Brimmer.
