Schnabel, Frank Kneitinger and
Richard Kneitinger. Interment
in Good Shepherd Cemetery.

Obituary of Mary Lou Nevins

Mary Lou DeVoe (Nevins) Covell passed away February 2, 2022 at Millard Fillmore Suburban. She was born January 24, 1931, the daughter of Lulu (Hart) and Henry DeVoe.  She had several different jobs throughout her life but none meant more to her than the role of being a Mom and Nana. She was a foster mother for many years when her children were young, and loved seeing her family grow with grandchildren and great grandchildren as she got older. She also truly loved animals, enjoyed cooking and crafting, and was very creative at both, and she was filled with joy by music, especially classic rock. And she was a diehard fan of her Buffalo Bills.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Paul (Valorie) Covell, of Burt, Jeffrey (Theresa Piatkowski) Covell of Newfane and Linda Covell Peet of Lockport. Grandmother of Richard (Shaine) Covell, Matthew (Brandi) Covell, Kelly (Scott) Mendola, Bill ( Leanne Hatswell) Roath, Joshua Covell, Carleen Covell and Christopher Covell. She also had seven great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her husband, Richard Covell and all of her 11 brothers and sisters, Violet, Fred, Nellie, Henry, Mildred, Georgia, Arthur, Grace, Miles, George, and Ruth.

Ruth E. DeVoe passed away February 20, 2017 in Absolut of Gasport. Born in Lockport on May 22, 1933 she was the daughter of Henry and Lula (Hert) DeVoe. Ruth enjoyed horseback riding, riding her bike, birds and other animals.
Ruth is survived by her children, Peggy Vinton, Penny Vinton, Peter Vinton, Melvin Vinton, Patty (Jeff Fry) Chase, Linda (Richard) Falls, Kathy (Loyd) Gardner; grandmother of 11; sister of Marylou Covell; and predeceased by nine other brother and sisters; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Obituary of Joyce Balcom

Joyce M. Balcom passed away June 29, 2018 in Eastern Niagara Hospital.  Born May 16, 1948 in Lockport she was the daughter of August and Nellie (DeVoe) Raetz.  Joyce worked at Briarwood Manor where she was a CAN for 15 years. She was a member of Lockport United Church of Christ in Lockport and enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Joyce was predeceased by her daughter Rita Balcom and grandson David Draper.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters Tammy (Jeff) Miller and Theresa (Glenn) Draper; grandchildren Elizabeth, Eric, Morgan, James, Nicholas, Tiffany, Rosemary, Joyce, great grandchildren Noah, London, Javaris Janiyaha, Wesley Jr., Brooklyn, Nathan; siblings Carl Raetz and LuAnn (Mark) Ludington; several nieces and nephews.

Melvin K. Vinton age 61, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly June 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Lockport, NY on July 24 1957, was the son of the late Kenneth and Ruth Evelyn (DeVoe) Vinton.
Mr. Vinton was raised in Gasport, NY, attended local schools and relocated to Niagara Falls, NY, He was a laborer, working at various jobs throughout his life. He was a hard worker, could complete any job he had to do, he was an avid gardener, was known to have a gifted “green thumb” as he tended to his home garden, he also enjoyed craft work and assisted in many maintenance tasks at the JJ Walsh Post. But most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Melvin is survived by his wife of forty years, Cheryl (Price) Vinton, his daughter Stephanie Vinton. Siblings Peggy Vinton, Penny (Edward),  Vinton-Walker Peter Vinton, Patricia (Jeff) Vinton -Fry, Linda (Richard) Falls and Lloyd Gardner , also survived by his  “Mom” , Alva Coffman and step siblings, Scott O’Harrow, Kimberly (Jeff) Horner, Donald Myers, Melody Rivers, Charles Myers ,Jennifer Shanly and several nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. 
There will be no prior visitation.  Melvin graciously donated his body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14th at 5 P.M. the American Legion, F.F. Cadille Post #1664, 752 E. Market St, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Arrangements by M.J.
