Isaac A .Gardei, 78 years old,
died this morning at his home, 332
Schenck street. Born in the town
of Wheatfield, he had resided in
North Tonawanda since childhood.
He was the husband of the late
Mary Wollenberg. He leaves three
sons, Eugene, Edwin and Erven;
two daughters, Mrs. Esther Luck
and Mrs. Eva Green, all of North
Tpnawanda; two grandchildren, a
brother, William, Akron, O., and
three sisters, Mrs. Mary Boyer,
Mrs. John Schnacky, North Tonawanda,
and Mrs. Arthur Smith.
Greenville, Mich. Rites will be
held Wednesday afternoon at 2.30
o'clock from the late residence.
Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate
and interment will be in
the St. Matthew's cemetery

Mrs. Mary Boyer, 83, a former resident
of 350 Payne avenue, died this
morning at the Casey nursing home
at Gasport.
She was born In the Town of
Wheatfield and had lived In this
vicinity most of her life. Mr. Boyer
was the widow of Edward Boyer,
of this city. She was a member'
of the 'Payne Avenue Churdh of
Christ
Surviving are a son. Edward, a
daughter, Mrs. Pearl Albert, a sister.
Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, all of this
city, and a brother, William Oardel,

David A. Boyer, 40 years old,
a life-long resident of North Tonawanda,
died last night at his
home, 33 Pine Woods drive, after
an illness of six months' duration.
Boyer was well known. For
14 years he conducted a barber
shop on Schenk street. He was
a member of North Tonawanda
Lodge, No. 860, B.P.O.E.; Electric
City Loge, No. 663, I.O.O.F.; En
terprisce Encampment No. 88,1.O.
OF.; the North Tonawanda Firemen's
Benevolent association and
the Sweeney Hose company.
Surviving are a wife, Lillie; a
son, Jack David; a mother, Mrs.
Mary Boyer; a brother, Edward
Boyer, and a sister, Mrs. Howard
Allbert, all of North Tonawanda.
The funeral will be held Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
residence and half an hour later
at the St. Peter's cnurch. Rev.
Ernst Schneppe will conduct the
services and interment will be in
Elmlawn.

Virginia M. Doebler, 92, of Mount Dora, FL, was called home to Glory on Saturday, August 6, 2022. She was born on July 3, 1930, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Robert B. and Eva (Gardei) Green. She grew up in North Tonawanda, New York, and was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. She attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo and was employed as a secretary by the Wurlitzer Company, the (Wales) Strippit Company, and the University at Buffalo.

She married her high school sweetheart, Donald W. Doebler, in 1951, and the couple lived in North Tonawanda until 1980 when they relocated to the Orlando, Florida area. Don and Virginia built a successful business, Leisure Bay Industries, which manufactured and marketed spas and other recreational products in their chain of retail stores throughout the southeast. After retiring, they enjoyed many years traveling and entertaining. They also spent much of their time boating and were active members of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, New York.

Virginia was an avid reader and a daily crossword puzzler. She loved to play the piano, attend musical theater, and dine at restaurants, fine or otherwise, as long as they served Chardonnay. She was also a skilled duplicate bridge player, directing a popular Friday night game in North Tonawanda for many years. Over the course of her life, Virginia belonged to many Lutheran churches, but she always considered her spiritual home to be North Tonawanda’s St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Her grandfather was a founding member of St. Matthew and Virginia found great comfort in knowing that her final resting place would be its cemetery. Above all, Virginia loved her life and the people who were part of it, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Doebler, of 53 years. She is survived by her son, David R. Doebler (Donna) of Atlanta; her daughter, Laura D. Saalmann (Terryl) of Mount Dora; five grandchildren, Andrew Doebler, Amanda Nelson (David), Catherine Dynes (Steven), Timothy Doebler, and Matthew Tully (Danielle); and six great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, August 19 at 2:00 PM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Drive in North Tonawanda. The Rev. Blaine Jorg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Drive, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, or to the Antique Boat Museum, 750 Mary Street, Clayton, NY 13624.
