    Mark Joseph Edwards passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 after a lengthy illness, at his home in Middleport, surrounded by his loving family.  He was 48. He was born in Niagara Falls on November 12, 1975, a son of Linda J. (Scouten) Edwards and the late Lawrence M. Edwards.
    He was a proud member the Wolf Clan of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne.  Mark attended local schools including Sacred Heart and he graduated from Niagara Falls High School where he played football, and he then attended Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
    He worked for Applebee’s Corporation, opening two Applebee’s in the area before beginning his career with General Motors in Tonawanda, where he worked as a tool setter.
    Mark was a devoted and loving father, loved the Philadelphia Eagles football team, was a train enthusiast, loved riding roller coasters and enjoyed camping but his greatest joy was his time with his family, especially his daughters Mariah and Lyllian.
    He is survived by his daughters Mariah Bielak and Lyllian Edwards, his mother Linda (late Larry) Edwards, his brother Michael (Lisa) Edwards, his uncle Douglas (Lisa) Scouten and three aunts: Darlene (late Alfred) Pawlikowski, Rita (Kevin) Farrell and Jane (late Keith) Scouten, his ex-wife and good friend Heather Bielak and many cousins.  
    In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother Paul (Michelle) Edwards, his uncle Keith (Jane) Scouten, his cousin Ryan Farrell and his grandparents, Byron and Mary L. (Pearson) Scouten and Carol Rhoades.
    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls on Sunday from 3 to 7 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18 at 10:30 AM in Divine Mercy Church, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, 14303.  Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston.
