    Donna Gayle Stitt (nee Maier), age 77, of North Tonawanda, August 19, 2014, surrounded by her family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Donna was a Registered Nurse and worked for the North Tonawanda Board of Education as a school nurse. She also had worked at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and taught nursing. She enjoyed traveling and knitting.

    She was the wife of the late Robert Stitt. Beloved mother of John (Barbara) Stitt, David (Sue) Stitt and Diane Stitt. Grandmother of Holly, Melissa, Rochelle (Paul), John (Caroline), Michele, Jennifer (Kevin), Alexa and Ryan; great-grandmother of Lorelai, Lirael and Audrey. Sister of the late Donald Maier; sister-in-law of Rose Maier; aunt of Donald "Butch" Maier and several other nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:30 AM. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.

    David Stitt, of North Tonawanda, September 1, 2021, unexpectedly. David was born in North Tonawanda to the late Robert William Stitt and Donna Gayle Stitt (Maier). He was a loving, dependable, and kind man who never let anything go unfinished. As a chef, David enjoyed being in the kitchen and cooking for people. He loved horses and was passionate about American Field Service, a student exchange program in which he volunteered his time for the past fifteen years. David went through trying times with his health but always persevered. He was a strong willed and resilient man. He was a caring and devoted friend. Most importantly, David adored his wife and children, and did his best to be present and active in their lives.
    Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Susan M. Stitt (Englander), and his children Alexa (German) Stitt, and Ryan (Kira) Stitt. Dear brother to John (Barbara) Stitt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a special Opa to Audrey, Alex, and Maddie and will also be missed by his canine companions, Zeama, Mocha, and Zig-Zag.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. (1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda) on Saturday, September 11th from 12 – 6 P.M.. Flowers gratefully accepted or, please consider donating to an animal rescue of your choice in his memory.
