GRAND ISLAND-Norman A. Girard, of 1332 Staley
Road, died Monday- (Jan. 29, 1968) at his home after a
long illness.
He was born in Buffalo and
had spent most of his life in the
Riverside area there. He had
been a Grand Island resident
for the last two years.
Mr. Girard was employed by
Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.
for 25 years, until about two
months ago when he was idled
because of illness.
Survivors include his wife,
the former Mary Loncar; two
sons, Richard P. and Ronald J.
Girard, and a daughter, Mrs.
John (Diane) Marion: three sis-
ters, Mrs. John (Grace) Marion,
Mrs. Elmer (Joan) Braunbach
and Mrs. NIcholas (Ethel)
Vales; a brother, Raymond
Girard, and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the
James E. Grace Funeral Home,
335 Ontario St., Buffalo, from
2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
A prayer service will be held
at the funeral home at 8:15
a.m, Thursday, followed by a
Requiem Mas at 9 at St. Stephen's
Church, Baseline Road.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet
Cemetery.

Obituary of Kenneth Braunbach

Kenneth (Ken) James Braunbach Sr. (August 17, 1937- September 30, 2017) passed away surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 56 years, Mary Anne and their children, Kim Kleps of Fairport, NY; Kelli Braunbach (Laurie Rose) of Raleigh, NC; Ken (Lora) Braunbach of Danville, CA; and four grandchildren Nicholas Kleps, Kenneth, Matthew and Isabella Braunbach. Ken was a compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will live in many of our hearts forever.
Ken received his Bachelors of Science degree from SUNY Brockport and Masters degree in Education from SUNY Buffalo. He taught at Emmet Belknap School in the Lockport school system for 34 years. He coached the girl's Varsity and Junior Varsity volleyball teams, as well as coached baseball and football at the varsity level. He enlisted in the US Army in 1955, and was stationed in Europe. After college, he was Commissioned as an Officer in the Army Reserves and National Guard. He retired as a Colonel after serving our country for 38 years. He was the past Commander of the 152nd Engineer Group stationed at the Buffalo Connecticut Street Armory, the chapter President of the Military Officer's Association of America (MOAA) for Western NY and served on their Board of Directors. He stayed active with his small business ventures, traveling, and spending time visiting his children and grandchildren. An avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan, he enjoyed watching the games with his long-time friends. He volunteered his time with many other state and local community boards and committees.
Friends may call on Wednesday October 4th 3-7PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street Lockport.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 5th at 10 AM at Holy Family Parrish Catholic Church 106 S. Main Street, Albion, NY.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Orleans County or Holy Family Parrish Catholic Church both in Albion NY.
