    Selma Hamilton, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at O. L.P Nursing Care Residence. Born in Central City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Angelo C. and Lena (Barrecca) Rizzo; and beloved wife of the late Hamish Hamilton.
    Selma was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Niagara Falls with her family as a child. She graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and moved to Orange County, CA, for a short period before returning to Niagara Falls.
    Selma was employed at Keller Agencies, and also owned and operated the Wayne Hotel and Hamish’s Inn alongside her husband. She later retired from the Occidental Chemical Corp as a Lab Technician for many years.
    Selma was a former member of the Eastern Star women’s auxiliary and enjoyed fishing a traveling with her husband. She also loved spending time at the Casino but above all, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
    Selma is survived by her children, Annie Pappineau, James (fiance Kathy Rush) Hamilton, and was predeceased by her infant daughter, Lori Jean Hamilton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tylor Pappineau, Samantha Regan, James (Brittani) Hamilton and Kristian (fiancé Aleigha Sexton) Hamilton; her great-grandchildren, Bentley and Aubrey Hamilton, and Kaeson Hamilton; her son-in-law, James Pappineau; siblings, Frances (late Stanley) Koshinski, Verna (late Biagio) Grossi, Mary Ann (late Douglas) Pike, Dominic “Mickey” (Gilda) Rizzo and Joseph (Maria) Rizzo, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased siblings, Anthony (late Thelma) Rizzo, Angelo (late Rose) Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Nancy (late Dominic) Farbo, Adelphine (late Tony) Mastrolembo, Lena (late John) Scrivani and two infant siblings Saviero and Adolph Rizzo.
    Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Thursday, July 2 at 10:30 A.M., followed by Selma’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery privately for Selma's family. Memorial offerings may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 331 Alberta Drive, Amherst, NY 14226.     Lena Scrivani, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence. Born in Central City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Angelo C. and Lena (Barrecca) Rizzo.

    Lena was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Niagara Falls as a teenager with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On July 25, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, John A Scrivani, at Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Scrivani predeceased her on May 17, 2014 after 60 cherished years together.

    Lena was employed as the manager of DuPont Credit Union for over 27 years prior to her retirement from the former Spirella Clothing Store in Niagara Falls. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places throughout the world including Italy, Mexico and Hawaii. They also spent the many winter seasons together in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning the house and spending time with her family.

    Above all, Lena’s greatest passion in life was to be a devoted wife and mother. She was the caretaker of the family and will be deeply missed.

    Lena is survived by two daughters, Carla (Leo Sliski) Scrivani and Paula Scrivani-Phillips; and was predeceased by one daughter, Denise Scrivani-Furiosi. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James (Candice) Furiosi and Nicholas (Heather) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Cody, Colin, Jacob, Kaiden and Kryslinn; siblings Frances (late Stanley) Koshinski, Verna (late Biagio) Grossi; Mary Ann (late Douglas) Pike; Dominic “Mickey” (Gilda) Rizzo, Selma (late Hamish) Hamilton and Joseph (Maria) Rizzo; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings Anthony (late Thelma) Rizzo, Angelo (late Rose) Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Nancy (late Dominic) Farbo and Adelphine (late Tony) Mastrolembo; her infant siblings, Saviero and Adolph Rizzo; and her husband’s parents, John A. and Elda Scrivani.

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16th from 3:30 – 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery to follow.

    Angelo C. Rizzo, 86, of Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care in Lewiston, NY. Born in Central City, PA, he was the son of the late Angelo C. and Lena (Barrecca) Rizzo He was the husband to the late Joan (Brass) Rizzo, who passed away in 1974, and to the late Roseanne (Falbo) Rizzo, who passed away in 2007.

    Angelo attended Shade High School in Pennsylvania and later moved to the Niagara Falls area in 1944, where he attended Niagara Falls High School. During World War II he served in the United States Army and was stationed in the Philippines from April 26, 1946, until his honorable discharge on April 25, 1947. Following his discharge, he boxed for the Clover Boxing Club in Niagara Falls, Ontario until his marriage in 1950. Angelo worked with the Sam Reele Concrete Company, the N.Y. Central Railroad, the Rob Lun Lumber Company, and was a long-time pipefitter for Hooker-Occidental Chemical Co., all located in Niagara Falls, NY.
    Angelo was an avid baseball fan and coached for LaSalle Little League and the Babe Ruth League Teams. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church and St. Leo's Church, both in Niagara Falls, as well as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Men's Club at St. Leo's Church. He and his former wife, Joan, also organized Saturday Night Bingo at St. Leo's Church Hall.

    Mr. Rizzo is survived by eight children, Jane (Terry) Young of Guilford, ME, Michael (Rosemarie) Rizzo of Niagara Falls, Patricia Johnson of Niagara Falls, NY, Christopher (Kathy) Rizzo of Cumberland, RI, Peggy (Donald) Schildhauer of the Town of Niagara, NY, Kara (William) Hartman of North Tonawanda, NY, Joseph (Colleen) Toarmino and Ross Toarmino, both of Niagara Falls, NY; 17 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Lena (late John) Scrivanni of Niagara Falls, NY, Frances (late Stanley) Koshinski of the Town of Niagara, Verna (late Benny) Grossi of Niagara Falls, Maryann (late Douglas) Pike of Niagara Falls, Dominick "Mickey" (Gilda) Rizzo of Niagara Falls, NY, Selma (late Hamish) Hamilton of Niagara Falls, NY, and Joseph (Maria) Rizzo of Lewiston, NY; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters, Anthony (late Thelma) Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Nancy (late Dominic) Farbo, Adelphine (late Tony) Mastrolembo and infants, Saviero Rizzo and Adolph Rizzo.

    Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 16th, at 10:30 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo Church, 2748 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with military honors.
