Edmund A. Page of Lewiston, NY passed away December 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace

Rehabilitation Center in Lewiston at the age of 89. He was born October 29, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Charles and Isabelle Page.

Ed attended Niagara Falls schools. During World War II in 1943, at the age of seventeen, he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the South Pacific for 3 years and was awarded the Victory, American Campaign, Good Conduct and the Asiatic-Pacific Medals.

Ed was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Malkonian) Page whom he married on November 3, 1951 at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls. They enjoyed square dancing for many years as well as vacationing with their loving family and special friends. Dorothy passed away on December 26, 1992. Ed was a salesman at the former Levy Bros. Furniture Co. for 30 years retiring at age 55. He began volunteering in 1984 in the Physical Therapy Department at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. After a few years he became employed as a Physical Therapy Technician and continued his volunteer work as well. During the last several years Ed became a regular at the front desk in the main lobby as the greeter with the friendly smile. He loved helping people in this capacity and was presented with many awards for donating over 1000 hours a year. Ed retired from his job after 22 years at the age of 86 and continued volunteering until shortly before his death. He also volunteered at Artpark for many years.

Ed was a member of the Ransomville Rural Retirees and enjoyed the last several years traveling extensively with the seniors and his cherished friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, and walking and bicycling for exercise.

Ed's charming personality, vibrant smile, and witty sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. He touched many lives in so many ways. His greatest pleasure was to bring a little joy to others and to make them smile. He was a true gentleman with a heart of gold.

He is survived by his son, Edmund M. Page of Lewiston and his daughter Sharon (Kenny) Cline, also of Lewiston, and several nieces and nephews. His best friend and sweetheart, Lois J. Johnston of the Town of Niagara, and many treasured friends also survive him. Besides his parents and his wife, Ed was predeceased by his sister, Harriet (late Thomas) Young and his brother, John (late Irene) Page.

True to his giving nature, Ed's final gift was the donation of his body to the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. A Celebration of Life to honor Ed will be held at a date to be announced. Donations in his memory may be made to Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston, NY 14092 or a charity of one's choice.
